T599 - Bournonite with Quartz $ 1500 SOLD Herodsfoot Mine, Liskeard District, Cornwall, England cabinet - 10.5 x 7 x 5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Bournonite 'cogwheels' to 3.5cm in size on sparklying white Quartz crystals. These are rare English classics mined in the mid to late 1800s. There are a number of good crystals here mixed in among the Quartz, which itself is very bright and showy. There is some contact/damage on the backside, but can be displayed without much, if any, showing. A rare classic that is also aesthetic, with the Bournonite crystals well separated and evenly dispersed across the width of the specimen.
T601 - Dioptase on Chrysocolla over Cerussite $ 550 SOLD Sanda Mine, Mindouli, Congo thumbnail - 2.5 x 2.5 x 1.2 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Old specimen composed of a reticulated 'snowflake' of Cerussite that has been coated by Chrysocolla with Dioptase crystals attached to one side. All the Dioptase aren't in perfect condition, but I think it displays best from the side without the Dioptase anyways. This was recently released from a collection and I've never seen one like it before. The label notes that it was purchased from John Seibel in 1997. A rare and unusual thumbnail!

T607 - Dioptase in Quartz $ 1500 SOLD Kaokaveld, Namibia miniature - 4.7 x 3.0 x 3 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Rare specimen of Dioptase crystals included in Quartz. These are not often seen and it's the only one I've ever owned. There were a handful of specimens from the Congo with slightly bigger Quartz crystals and included Dioptase crystals that sold in the $25K-$35K range. In this specimen, the Dioptase crystals settled on an earlier generation of yellow colored Quartz (which I understand is caused by Sulfur).
T608 - Tourmaline $ 600 SOLD Chia Mine, Minas Gerais, Brazil miniature - 3.7 x 1.3 x 1 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Multi-colored Tourmaline crystal with shades of red and green. It has the appearance of a larger crystal that has grown atop, and at a slightly different angle, to a smaller crystal, or it may be that the bottom of the larger crystal partially etched away and later recrystalized. In any case, it's a beautiful piece that is mostly double-terminated, and complete all around.
