R435 - Calcite twin $ 1400 (=~ AUS$ 2135) Bor Pit, Dal'negorsk, Russia miniature - 3.2 x 3.2 x 1.5 cm
A complete butterfly-twin Calcite crystal from Dal'negorsk with bright luster and good transparency. Well crystallized all around and in excellent condition. While Calcite is common from Dal'negorsk, these butterfly twins remain rare, and this is a fine example. Ex. Carl Acosta collection.
R436 - Gold with Arsenopyrite $ 2200 (=~ AUS$ 3355) Homestake Mine, Lead, Lawrence Co., South Dakota, USA small cabinet - 7 x 5 x 1.5 cm
Sheets of Gold with Arsenopyrite in white Quartz. The largest leaf of Gold is 1.4cm wide. The back is sawcut and reveals veins of solid Gold running through the Quartz - a significant amount. Discovered in 1875, the Homestake Mine was a deep underground gold mine that operated until 2002. For a period, it was the largest and deepest gold mine in North America. The mine produced more than forty million troy ounces of gold during its lifetime. Despite this, Gold specimens from this mine are scarce. Ex. R438 - Sperrylite $ 1200 (=~ AUS$ 1830) Talnakh Cu-Ni Deposit, Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia miniature - 5 x 4 x 2.3 cm
Highly lustrous metallic crystals of Sperrylite in sulfide matrix from the well known Talnakh deposit. While many Sperrylite specimesn have just a single crystal, this one has many crystals of this rare platinum species are scattered across the surface. Some are incomplete, but many are perfect and reach 8mm in size. They are not just on the front, additional crystals can be seen along the sides still embedded in the matrix, indicating there are likely even more remaining inside the matrix too. Choice cluster of Amethyst crystals from Mexico. A transparent single crystal rises up at top with a doubly-terminated crystal crossing below. Fine and undamaged with rich purple coloration.

Spinel-twinned Galena crystal with attached Dolomite and Chalcopyrite. These are rare but well known USA classics. Complete all around with the front side showing mostly Galena and the back side showing mostly Dolomite and Chalcopyrite. Ex. Carl Acosta collection.
R441 - Calcite $ 1800 (=~ AUS$ 2745) Butterfly Twin Pocket, Malmberget, Norrbotten Co., Sweden miniature - 4.7 x 2 x 1.7 cm
Single golden Calcite crystal from a late 1980s pocket known as the Butterfly Twin pocket that was collected by Peter Lyckberg. Calcite crystals from this pocket are noted for their rich color and transparency. This is a complete crystal with some contacts on the sides from other crystals and a tiny cleave at the very tip. R442 - Cubanite $ 1750 (=~ AUS$ 2668) SOLD Henderson #2 Mine, Chibougamau, Quebec, Canada thumbnail - 2.4 x 1.5 x 0.5 cm
Single twinned Cubanite crystal with superb brassy metallic luster and wonderful striations. The crystal is tabular with uniform thickness and is crystallized all around - front, back, and along all the edges - a floater. There are a couple areas of edge chipping, otherwise perfect and the front and back faces present wonderfully with luster and striations. This is a crystal I've owned for over 25 years.
R443 - Rhodizite rough and cut set $ 150 (=~ AUS$ 229) Ampasogona pegmatite, Andrembesoa, Betafo Dist., Madagascar thumbnail - 1 x 1 x 0.5 cm
A 1cm partial Rhodizite gem crystal paired with a cut gemstone. Rhodizite crystals are typically only translucent, so a crystal so transparent is exceptional, even if not complete. The gemstone is a faceted oval approximately 5 x 3 mm.

Fantastic, well-crystallized Copper from Russia. Arborescent form with good space between the various branches. Very well crystallized with surface patina that ranges in colors from Copper to different shades of red. Ex. Carl Acosta collection.

R447 - Heliodor $ 500 (=~ AUS$ 762) Minas Gerais, Brazil miniature - 3.7 x 2.1 x 1.4 cm
Etched gem Heliodor crystal from Brazil. The crystal is transparent with excellent natural lemon yellow color. This crystal was purchased in Brazil by dealer Steve Perry. Steve purchased this directly at the mine the day it was found and, according to Steve, it was the best crystal pulled from the pocket.
