P340 - Rhodochrosite $ 4500 SOLD Black Rock Mine, Northern Cape, South Africa thumbnail - 2.8 x 2.3 x 2.2 cm
Glassy red scalenohedral Rhodochrosite crystal cluster. The crystals have good color and transparency, some with flat terminations. There are two edge crystals with tiny cleaves at the tips, otherwise undamaged. Ex. Wolfgang Pohl collection. I purchased this specimen approximately 20 years ago. Pohl's old label indicates a possible purchase date of 1977.

Large, glassy single Topaz crystal from Shigar. Undamaged crystal with highly glassy prism faces and more matte luster on the flat top of the termination. Excellent transparency. Note that I bought this many years ago and it has never been cleaned. It's really good now, but could be improved slightly with professional cleaning. Photos came out a little more orange - it's more golden brown than orange in person as is typical for these.

A doubly-terminated crystal with a more flat, glassy termination at one end and a beveled termination at the other. Complete and undamaged and weighs 68.86 grams. Ex. Don Boydston collection (I was second in line to pick from this collection when it was acquired by John Seibel many years ago, and was happy to get this crystal from the collection). Note this crystal has never been cleaned and could be improved.

It has a rich pink color over about 80 percent of the crystal, followed by a green zone, and finally a dark red zone at the more bevelled termination end. A doubly-terminated crystal with a more flat termination at one end and a beveled termination at the other. Complete and undamaged and weighs 113.21 grams. Has an attached transparent Quartz crystal, Albite, and Lepidolite.
