Fibrous red/orange crystals of Ludlockite on metallic ore matrix from a recent find at the Ojuela Mine. There is Ludlockite on all sides of the specimen with a concentrated area of crystals in the front center. This was found recently by a local miner searching for Legrandite and shipped directly to me from Mexico. A few specimens of Ludlockite from Mapimi were also available at the Tucson show in 2023. Ludlockite is a rare lead iron arsenite species and specimens were previously best known from the Type locality of Tsumeb. Ludlockite specimens from Tsumeb were found decades ago from a single boulder and are very hard to obtain. These recent specimens from Mexico make a once very difficult to obtain species available to collectors.
