This is the most complete Magnesioaxinite crystal I've ever seen, with crystal faces along the entire outer surface edges. There is minor edge chipping, but it's still a great one.

This is a good one, with glassy luster, transparency, and nice purple and blue coloration. It's much thicker and robust than most. Complte all around with minor edge chipping, much better than the vast majority.
AU932 - Tanzanite $ 2000 (=~ £ 1599) SOLD Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania thumbnail - 1.6 x 0.8 x 0.7 cm
Beautiful fancy colored, thumbnail-sized Tanzanite crystal with excellent pink coloration in one direction, and a golden yellow when viewed in the other direction. A complete crystal with glassy luster and in pristine condition without a single edge chip. Good transparency.
AU933 - Quartz scepter $ 450 (=~ £ 360) SOLD Mondo Mine, Shinyanga Region, Tanzania small cabinet - 7 x 3.2 x 2.8 cm
Glassy, lustrous Quartz scepter from the Mondo Mine. This mine is well known for water-clear, colorless Quartz and for Sphene crystals, but it also produces scepters. This one happens to be the best one I've seen. It has a mixture of smokey and Amethyst coloration and a number of red Hematite inclusions. It's a uniform shape, complete all around with one chip on the the termination, otherwise pristine.
AU934 - Spessartine $ 1500 (=~ £ 1199) SOLD Nani, Loliondo, Tanzania thumbnail - 3 x 3 x 2.8 cm
Complete orange Spessartine crystal from recent production (yes, there is small scale mining ongoing at this locality). A complete crystal with very minor to no edge chipping and no black inclusions. Superb coloration that glows bright orange under lighting and areas of gem transparency. For some reason the crystals I've seen associated with red mica are some of the best from this deposit, and this one has a bit of red mica attached. A very nice one!!
AU740 - Spessartine $ 350 (=~ £ 280) Nani, Loliondo, Tanzania miniature - 3.2 x 3 x 2.6 cm
Complete orange Spessartine crystal from recent production (yes, there is small scale mining ongoing at this locality). A complete crystal with very minor edge chipping and one contacted area on the bottom where it grew against another crystal. Has a second small crystal intergrown and has areas of gem transparency.
AU935 - Diopside (twinned) $ 280 (=~ £ 224) SOLD Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania thumbnail - 2.2 x 1.4 x 1 cm
Glassy green Diopside crystal from the Merelani Tanzanite mines. Complete all around and undamaged with a V-formation down the centers of the termination faces caused by twinning.
AU936 - Tourmaline $ 300 (=~ £ 240) SOLD Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania thumbnail - 2.5 x 1.1 x 0.9 cm
Beautiful sea-green Tourmaline (likely a Vanadian or Chromian Dravite) from Merelani. Tourmaline is not described from this locality in literature, but this is the second time I've had one from here, and this one looks just like the previous. Perfect all around without damage, flaring out near the termination. Translucent, rare crystal.
AU937 - Ruby $ 250 (=~ £ 200) SOLD Muriatata hills, Longido District, Arusha Region, Tanzania miniature - 3.4 x 2.1 x 1.5 cm
Cluster of deep red Ruby crystals in matrix from Longido. A 1.7cm wide hexagonal crystal presents on top.
AU938 - Tanzanite $ 7500 (=~ £ 5997) SOLD Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania thumbnail - 2.0 x 1.0 x 0.9 cm
Stunning gem Tanzanite crystal of exceptional quality. I see absolutely no internal fractures or veils. It is rare to find an internally flawless crystal of deep blue Tanzanite. Whether it's because they seldomly form this way or they get cut up quickly when they do, I just rarely see one so perfectly transparent with this top color. There is minor chipping present that could easily be fixed with a very minor restoration to create a perfect crystal both inside and out. Weighs 23.65 carats.
AU939 - Tanzanite $ 4500 (=~ £ 3598) SOLD Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania miniature - 3.6 x 2.2 x 1.5 cm
Stunning etched gem Tanzanite crystal. A seldom seen fully etched crystal of deep blue Tanzanite. The surface is perfect without a chip anywhere and it's internally transparent. Super cool, natural unheated crystal. Weighs 108.15 carats. ©2010-2018 Marin Mineral |
