One of the largest and highest-grade porphyry orebodies in the world, the mine still produces about 1% of the world's copper. Despite the huge prduction, Copper specimens from this mine are uncommon.

M395 - Copper $ 650 (=~ AUS$ 991) SOLD Cashin Mine, Colorado, USA cabinet - 11 x 6 x 2 cm
Large, heavy specimen of solid Copper with laminar growth features. The fibrous-looking nature of the copper is probably due to replacement by copper of fibrous-like white barite that is locally abundant at the mine. Small amounts of Silver iare present intergrown with the Copper. ©2010-2018 Marin Mineral |
