Gem quality purple Spinel on matrix. A rarely seen and colorful gem crystal on matrix. The main crystal is 11x10x7mm in size and transparent. The backside is flat and the crystal sticks out off the matrix, but is undamaged. It was etched out of Calcite and the gap behind it is where the Calcite was formerly located. Aside from it's natural beauty, there is intrinsic gem value in the main crystal.

Large, floater specimen of multi-colored Tourmaline crystals on a large Quartz crystal. This is an old specimen dating back to the early days of the mine (I am told the 1980s). Even though they are all from the same pocket, the Tourmalines show a variety of colors and form - some with dark terminations, others with yellowish terminations, and some with pink cores. The best is a 4cm well terminated crystal of transparent green with a yellow termination. The Quartz crystal is rehealed on the bottom. This is a great (and inexpensive) specimen for a collector who wants to put together a Pederniera collection reflecting the various pockets and styles found at the mine.

Seven red Garnet crystals in a matrix of grey Graphite. Small dark crystals of Dravite are also embedded in the Graphite. The Garnets reach 12mm in diameter and have been analyzed as mostly Almandine with a touch of Pyrope in the outer layers. These make stunning specimens due to the fact that the Graphite has been removed from around the backs of the Garnets allowing light to pass through the crystals, creating glowing 'red embers'.

Fossilized tree sap containing inclusions of well preserved insects. There are many small insects and a 1.4cm insect that looks like a cockroach. Copal is similar to amber, but younger in age. This copal is from the tree species Hymenaea verrucosa and believed to be from the Quaternary Period. Polished on all sides.

Bright lemon yellow Brucite crystals from the original finds of a couple years ago. I looked through hundreds of specimens to find the brightest, most deeply saturated yellow specimens such as this. This specimen is solid Brucite and is well crystallized on both sides. The bright yellow Brucite formed as a second generation over a thin piece of white Brucite. These new specimens from Pakistan are world's best for the species.

Faceted gemstone of Heliodor, a 1.5cm oval weighing 8 carats. This was likely cut in the Ukraine and came to me in a lot of Heliodor crystals. There are a couple chips and should be recut if used in jewelry, but would be great paired with a Heliodor crystal in a rough and cut set.
