Shimmering botryoidal Rhodochrosite with top cherry red color. Previous dealer had this listed at $4,500, but I got it in trade and can offer it for less. There are a couple light scuff marks, otherwise undamaged (note that the scuff is on the left center; other lighter areas in photo are light reflections off the crystals surfaces). Translucent when backlit.

Large, catepillar-like formation of Prehnite crystals. A very interesting specimen for it's unique form, distinct crystals, and coloration (way better than photos - the camera didn't pick up the blue green color well). New finds at Merelani have produced Prehnites with a color I've not seen before, sort of a mixture of both green and blue. This specimen features both typical lemon yellow and the new blue/green colored crystals. While most Prehnites from other parts of the world occur as botryoidal masses or spheres, Merelani produces well formed, distinct crystals, and this specimen is loaded wtih them. It has double-terminated clusters to 5cm and individual crystals to 3cm. There is one small smooth area where it contacted a Calcite crystal, otherwise it's a floater covered by crystals on all sides, with little if any damage. One of the best, if not the best, Merelani Prehnite I've had. Minor Pyrite and Graphite in association.

Undamaged floater crystal group with no points of contact - nothing but great crystals. The crystals have good luster and fantastic electric blue color. This specimen is from what was called the Watercourse Pocket. The main, central crystal has a little area of Malachite poking out one end. There has been plenty of Milpillas Azurite found, but I consider these watercours pocket floater specimens to be among the best for the mine.

This specimen is from what was called the Watercourse Pocket. There are some fibers of Malachite attached and a couple crystls show areas of alteration to Malachite. There si one tiny crystal that is damaged, likely due to the internal alteration to Malachite, otherwise the specimen is undamaged. There has been plenty of Milpillas Azurite found, but I consider these watercours pocket floater specimens to be among the best for the mine.

Smokey Quartz, Muscovite, Spessartine crystals and even one transparent octahedron of Fluorite atop blocky white Microcline Feldspar crystals. Well balanced specimen with transparent Smokey Quartz crystals rising up in the rear central portion and a backdrop to Spessartine crystals atop a book of Muscovite. This was the best specimen of a lot I reviewed with Debbie Meng during the first years when these were being found, perhaps 20 years ago. There are a few partial Spessartines, which look more like natural corrosion than damage. otherwise all the crystals are perfect and undamaged.
