There has been the best production of Pyrite from Merelani over the past year of so than I've ever seen before, and this specimen is one of the best I've ever seen. It has top luster over all surfaces (others have matte luster in areas) and the color is spectacular, much better than the photos can convey. It has a large main crystal 8cm wide, and it's a floater with no points of attachment. There is some damage as to be expected on most Pyrite from this locality, but some of what appears to be damage may not be as Merelani Pyrite often has strange growth features. Some faces are flat and smooth, others are slightly recessed with growth hillocks across the surface. Due to the high luster it was hard to photograph and you will find this to be much better in person than the photos.

Bright and lustrous Pyrite, complete all around, and even showing crystal faces on the bottom where it was formerly attached to Graphite. One back face is indented and shows unusual morphology.
