J255 - Talc after Enstatite Bamle, Norway small cabinet - 7.5 x 6.5 x 4 cm
Large intergrown Enstatite crystals that have been replaced by green Talc. Complete all around and terminated. These were found in approximately 1900-1910 and this is considered a large specimen. Comes with an old German label.
J252 - Galena after Bournonite $ 750 (=~ CAN$ 1029) Pribram, Bohemia, Czech Republic cabinet - 12 x 7 x 4 cm
Large, relatively flat specimen with the front face covered by crystals of Galena that have replaced Bournonite. Individual crystal reach 1.2cm in size and are undamaged.
J391 - Brookite in Quartz Kharan, Balochistan, Pakistan small cabinet - 5.5 x 3 x 3 cm
Sharp, water clear Quartz crystals included by Brookite crystals. The main Quartz crystal is double-terminated. The Brookite crystals have fine hair-like needles of Rutile extending off the crystal surfaces. Fine and undamaged, one of the better examples from this occurrence that I've seen.
J611 - Pyrargyrite with Pyrite Uchuchacua Mine, Peru small cabinet - 5.5 x 5.2 x 5.0 cm
Rich Pyrargyrite specimen with numerous clusters of well-defined crystals scattered throughout the sulfide matrix. Other species in association include Pyrite, Quartz, and Calcite. Reminds me of an ice cream cone studded with Pyrargyrite chocolate chips!
K363 - Quartz Himalaya Mtns., India small cabinet - 9 x 7.5 x 5 cm
Super bright and showy water-clear, colorless Quartz crystals from the Indian Himalayas. Slight chipping on one back termination face, otherwise perfect. Stands upright for display.
K698 - Wulfenite with Mimetite Glove Mine, Santa Cruz Co., Arizona, USA small cabinet - 6.5 x 6 x 3.5 cm
Golden yellow Wulfenite crystals to 1.7cm with small spherical Mimetite crystal groups, good all around.
CT706 - Anglesite Last Chance Mine, Yreka Mining District, Kellog, Shoshone Co., Idaho, USA small cabinet - 5.5 x 4.5 x 2.5 cm
Glassy transparent Anglesite crystals on a Galena matrix. Longest crystal is 1.4cm. Ex. Chuck Trantham collection. The old label indicates that this was from the Bunker Hill Mine, but it is most likely from the nearby Last Chance Mine, which are much rarer than Bunker Hill Anglesites.
LL267 - Sylvanite Cripple Creek, Teller Co., Colorado, USA small cabinet - 7 x 5 x 4.5 cm
Silvery metallic Sylvanite on matrix. Main area of Sylvanite is 4.5cm wide. Sylvanite is a rare Silver and Gold Telluride mineral.
LL342 - Fluorite on Muscovite Chumar Bakhoor, Nagar District, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan cabinet - 12 x 9.5 x 6 cm
Large 6cm octahedral pink Fluorite on Muscovite. A superb example from a locality that came to fame for it's Aquamarine, but more recently has produced fine pink Fluorite specimens. The main crystal is highly transparent and there are additional small Fluorites in the Muscovite and a white Feldspar crystal.
CT708 - Stilbite on Mordenite Skookumchuck Dam, Thurston Co., Washington, USA miniature - 4 x 3.5 x 2 cm
Tall, snow-white crystals of Stilbite with Mordenite, complete and well crystallized all around. Ex. Chuck Trantham collection, self collected by Chuck decades ago during his time working as a geologist during construction of the dam.
LL495 - Amethyst Las Vigas, Vera Cruz, Mexico miniature - 4.2 x 3 x 2 cm
Exquisite, glassy purple Amethyst crystals attached to a small bit of Epidote covered matrix. Main crystal is double-terminated. Undamaged. Ex. Bob Reynolds collection.
LL460 - Spinel Twin Lakes Limestone deposit, Lower Twin Lake, Twin Lakes, Fresno Co., California, USA small cabinet - 6.5 x 5.2 x 3 cm
Well formed, translucent octahedrons of blue Spinel to 7mm in size associated with brown Pargasite crystals. Sawcut on back. Collected by Chuck Trantham and Al McGuinness in 1986. Chuck's label indicates locality as 'Locality 2, Twin Lakes area, Fresno Co., California, USA'.
AU504 - Apatite with Aquamarine and Schorl Roundu Mine, Shigar Valley, Skardu District, Pakistan cabinet - 10 x 6.6 x 4 cm
A large, glossy single pink Apatite crystal with attached Schorl and a gem Aquamarine crystal creating a colorful combination specimen from the famous Shigar Valley. The Apatite is large sized, possibly the largest from the region, with gem areas and high luster. The Aquamarine is perfectly terminated, transparent and glass-like.
LL590 - Creedite Liberty Mine, Tonopah, Nye Co., Nevada, USA cabinet - 12.5 x 10.5 x 4.5 cm
Large flat specimen of purple Creedite from a seldom seen locality. Loaded with crystals, there is one contact where the opposing wall rock pinched in on the pocket, otherwise it's generally nothing but good crystals all over the front face. Comes with an old hand written letter from Jim Minette who sold this to Bob for $250 long ago. Ex. Bob Reynolds collection.
LL842 - Barite Clara Mine, Wolfach, Schwarzwald, Germany cabinet - 13.5 x 7 x 4 cm
Translucent, bright yellow Barite crystals over an earlier generation of white Barite. Well crystallized on both sides with strong, saturated yellow color and in great condition overall. These old German Barites are uncommon to find now. Comes with a number of old labels including the Lesnicks, the William Hiss collection, and Kristalle. A John Durkos label indicates it was purchased from the Lesnicks at the 1981 Franklin mineral show. Ex. Bob Reynolds collection.
