Yellow Tourmaline

Twelve specimens from a new find of yellow tipped Tourmaline from Stak Nala.  Tourmaline crystals colored yellow are uncommon and I have only ever had one previous to this find (also from Pakistan).  In addition to the color, all the crystals are double terminated with pyramidal terminations on the yellow ends and with generally flat terminations on the green ends. The central areas of most crystals are a nearly opaque dark green.

Double terminated Elbaite crystal with a yellow, pyramidal termination at one end and a somewhat flat, green termination at the other. This is boththe largest crystal of the lot and the only one with such a large light green middle zone. There is one ding along one edge, terminations are perfect.

Cluster of six terminated Elbaite crystals that have grown through and next to a Quartz crystal, all surrounded by thin blades of Clevelandite Feldspar. The Elbaite grades up from dark green to pink at the terminations.

Cluster of 3 Elbaite crystals blanketed by thin blades of Clevelandite Feldspar. The main crystal is 5.2cm long and double terminated, crossing across the top of the specimen. The Elbaite grades up from dark green to light green to clear at the terminations. Great display piece with the double terminated crystal perched up on the Clevelandite. Back crystal is no terminated.
