ST795 - Malachite (chatoyant) Shilu Mine, Yangchun Co., Yangjiang Prefecture, Guangdong Province, China cabinet - 13 x 8 x 4 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Botryoidal Malachite specimen from the Shilu Mine in China. This find produced Malachite with a wonderful velvety, chatoyant surface luster. The chatoyancy is very evident under bright lights or in direct sunlight, creating shimmering 'eyes' all over. It has bubbly botryoidal surfaces along the top with a lighter green, fibrous structure around the edges and all over the bottom. Undamaged and a good size for these (not too big, not too small).

This is a complete crystal with typical stepped termination growth and small raised crystal growths on some sides. There is a tiny edge chip, otherwise it's perfect and undamaged, and transparent internally. Superb color!

Zanazziite is a hydrated calcium magnesium iron aluminum beryllium phosphate mineral and occurs as dark green prismatic single crystals to 2mm and rounded masses. Lavra da Ilha is the Type locality for this rare species. The Eosphorite occurs as splendid bladed brown crystals in radial clusters. Ex. Erich Laskowski collection, purchased by Erich in 1995.
