ST442 - Tetrahedrite $ 450 (=~ AUS$ 686) Casapalca Mine, Huarochirà Province, Lima, Peru miniature - 3.2 x 3 x 1.8 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Lustrous, sharp, dark metallic-gray tetrahedrite with small amounts of attached Pyrite from Casaplaca, one of the premiere localities for the species. The main crystal is large sized at 3cm and the cluster as a whole is very aesthetic.
ST434 - Libethenite $ 350 (=~ AUS$ 534) Mindola pit, Rokana Mine, Kitwe, Zambia miniature - 3.2 x 2 x 1.8 cm ![]() ![]() Cluster of dark green, lustrous Libethenite crystals 1.5cm wide in a grey argillite matrix. These were collected in the 1970s and are considered to be some of the world's best for species.
ST552 - Tantalite $ 200 (=~ AUS$ 305) Kunar, Afghanistan thumbnail - 3 x 2.5 x 2 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Complete and undamaged tabular Tantalite crystal with attached Albite. I can see a bit of red coloration on some edges so it's perhaps Manganotantalite.
ST560 - Dioptase $ 500 (=~ AUS$ 762) Mindouli District, Pool Department, Congo thumbnail - 2.7 x 1.5 x 1.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Aesthetic cluster of large, elongated Dioptase crystals. Undamaged. This is from the Lou Schwartz collection and one of the earlier pieces found at the locality.
ST472 - Dioptase $ 300 (=~ AUS$ 457) Mindouli District, Pool Department, Congo thumbnail - 2.2 x 0.8 x 0.8 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Large, elongated single Dioptase crystal. Undamaged, transparent to translucent with attached white Calcite around the base. Exceptional single thumbnail Dioptase.
ST555 - Tourmaline $ 220 (=~ AUS$ 335) St. Anne's Mine, Miami, Karoi District, Zimbabwe small cabinet - 6.2 x 0.6 x 0.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Long, dark green but transparent single Tourmaline crystal from recent production at the famous St. Anne's mine in Zimbabwe. Tourmaline has been very rare from this mine historically, which has primarily targeted blue Topaz. Though dark, it is transparent facet grade throughout with a more greenish brown at the tip and a bright pure green over the rest of the crystal. Complete and undamaged and weighs 4.86 grams.

ST556 - Quartz $ 250 (=~ AUS$ 381) Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania miniature - 4.8 x 2.5 x 2 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Thick, double-terminated Quartz crystal with a smaller single crystal rising up off one side. This crystal has a lot of character and reminds me a submarine for some reason. Complete all around and undamaged. Found at the Merelani Tanzanite mines.
ST569 - Calcite $ 800 (=~ AUS$ 1220) Daye Copper Mine, Daye Co., Huangshi, Hubei, China small cabinet - 6.8 x 3.5 x 3 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Large, double-terminated greenish yellow Calcite crystal. The crystal is internally transparent and nearly pristine. This is a crystal I've owned for about 20 years and was the best of a small lot available with one Chinese dealer at the Tucson mineral show.
ST564 - Bournonite $ 1200 (=~ AUS$ 1830) Machacamarca, Potosi, Bolivia small cabinet - 8 x 6 x 5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Large 'cogwheels' or metallic grey Bournonite on matrix. Main crystal is 4cm wide a stands uprite perfectly for display. There are other smaller Bournonite crystals present along with small Tetrahedrite crystals.
ST589 - Arsenopyrite, Quartz, Stannite $ 250 (=~ AUS$ 381) Yaogangxian Mine, Hunan, China miniature - 3.7 x 3 x 2.1 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Undamaged specimen of a transparent Quartz crystal and mica atop a bright, metallic cluster of Arsenopyrite crystals over a matrix of Stannite. Attractive, showy miniature.
