K939 - Apophyllite $ 350 (=~ AUS$ 534) Rahuri, Maharashtra State, India miniature - 5 x 3.5 x 2.5 cm Colorless Apophyllite that has overgrown another tan colored Zeolite to create a 'disco ball' formation. I remeber these were available once about 5-6 years ago and I've not seen them since, this one released recently from a private collection. Sparkly and undamaged.
K943 - Galena $ 200 (=~ AUS$ 305) Sweetwater Mine, Reynolds Co., Missouri, USA small cabinet - 6 x 4 x 4 cm Single, somewhat rectangular crystal of Galena sitting upright on a small amount of matrix. Complete all around and more aesthetic than most.
K527 - Spessartine $ 650 (=~ AUS$ 991) Nani, Loliondo, Tanzania thumbnail - 3 x 3 x 3 cm Complete 'citrus' orange Spessartine crystal from old finds in Tanzania. These were mostly found as partial or damaged crystals with perfect complete crystals such as this much less common. Equant form with very minimal edge wear, otherwise no damage. There are a few small areas of black Braunite inclusions, otherwise it's nothing but gemmy orange. These were often cut up into spectacular gemstones, and this one could cut a number of small gems.
K909 - Apatite with Chalcopyrite $ 125 (=~ AUS$ 191) Zacatecas, Mexico miniature - 3.5 x 2.5 x 2.2 cm Two colorless Apatite crystals to 7mm associated with numerous Chalcopyrite crystals. Old specimen I've had for about 40 years.
K944 - Mimetite $ 400 (=~ AUS$ 610) Mt. Bonnie Mine, Northern Territory, Australia miniature - 3.3 x 1.8 x 1.4 cm Floater specimen of Mimetite crystals attached to the sides of a small shard of Limonite matrix. The Mimetite crystals are chunky and reach 8mm in diameter.
K134 - Copper $ 350 (=~ AUS$ 534) Cliff Mine, Keweenaw Co., Michigan, USA miniature - 4.8 x 2.3 x 1.5 cm Well crystallized Copper specimen with a good patina. Comes with an old Mike Bermann label.
AB104 - Copper after Azurite $ 300 (=~ AUS$ 457) Copper Rose Mine, Grant Co., New Mexico, USA miniature - 3.5 x 2.5 x 2 cm Cluster of Azurite that has been completely replaced by Copper. Dominant main crystal with smaller crystals atttached to the front center. Complete on both sides with well defined, sharp edges and undamaged. A remarkable and fantastic specimen.
AB108 - Smithsonite $ 650 (=~ AUS$ 991) Broken Hill Mine, Kabwe, Zambia miniature - 5 x 3.5 x 2.2 cm Two large, double-terminated Smithsonite crystals that display dramatically on matrix. This locality is not known for volumes of specimens but I have seen the occasional really interesting specimen from here over the years and this counts as one of them. The largest Smithsonite is 3.6cm wide and the specimen displays well from either side. There are unfortunately small cleaves on the tip of each crystal, but they don't ditract that much, especially when considering the rarity of the piece and the overall visual impact.
AB113 - Tanzanite $ 3000 (=~ AUS$ 4575) Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania miniature - 4 x 2.2 x 0.7 cm Stunning bi-color Tanzanite crystal of yellow over vivid purple/blue. This crystal has superb luster and unusually uniform shape, retaining an even 7mm thickness all the way from the base to the termination. There are two chips, including one on the back termination, but the sheer pizzaz and dramatic coloration greatly overcomes it, it's that pretty and unique. The best bi-color Tanzanite I've ever had. Weighs 13 grams.
K965 - Rhodochrosite $ 2800 (=~ AUS$ 4270) N'Chwanning Mine, Kuruman, South Africa miniature - 3.8 x 3 x 2 cm Crystals of translucent Rhodochroiste over a small bit of Manganite matrix. Undamaged.
K941 - Brucite $ 300 (=~ AUS$ 457) Killa Saifullah, Balochistan, Pakistan cabinet - 10 x 5.5 x 4 cm Large, thick somewhat pinwheel formation of translucent yellow Brucite on a bit of matrix from recent finds in Pakistan. Undamaged and good from both sides, this is a very thick formation. The Brucite is well crystallized all around, characteristic of open pocket growth and not growth in tight, contacted seams as are most. An excellent example that is just plain more massive than most.
M265 - Pyrite $ 180 (=~ AUS$ 274) Butte, Montana, USA thumbnail - 2.5 x 2 x 1.8 cm Fine and unusual Pyrite with somewhat stepped, modified octahedral crystals forming a tringular, pyramid shaped specimen. Crystallzed all around and undamaged. From an old Pyrite collection built in the 1970s-80s.
M276 - Pyrite after Clam $ 150 (=~ AUS$ 229) Indianapolis, Indiana, USA miniature - 4.5 x 4.5 x 3.5 cm Pyrite crystals that have replaced a fossil clam. Uniform shape and undamaged. Crystallized all around. From an old Pyrite collection built in the 1970s-80s.
M277 - Pyrite $ 150 (=~ AUS$ 229) Bleiberg, Calamine, Morrednet, Germany small cabinet - 5.2 x 4 x 3 cm Floater specimen of solid Pyrite crystallized all around. The top half shows large striated cube faces and the backside is a mixture of stepped faces and smaller crystals. From an old Pyrite collection built in the 1970s-80s.
