The Quartz crystal is very transparent and bright, high quality (way better than photos). There is a smaller Quartz attached to the Calcite crystal too.
C557 - Spinel Big Maria mountains, Riverside County, California, USA cabinet - 13 x 10 x 8 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Large 3cm black Spinel crystal on matrix with other smaller Spinel crystals. This is an old specimen from a collection from the 1960s and 70s, and unfortunately there was no locality information available. I believe it to be from an old, lost locality in Riverside Co. It occurs with Chlorite and appears to have been partially etched from carbonate rock. It rates as a significant California Spinel. Undamaged.
