AF326 - Jeremejevite $ 1800 (=~ CAN$ 2470) Ameib Ranch, Arandis, Erongo Region, Namibia thumbnail - 3.1 x 1.2 x 1.0 cm Large single crystal from a find in spring 2010. Large size for the species, with both good length and perhaps more significantly, exceptional thickness. The crystal is naturally etched however retains a good glassy luster and has lots of internal transparency.
NA409 - Smithsonite $ 200 (=~ CAN$ 274) Kelly Mine, MAgdalena, Socorro Co., New Mexico miniature - 3.2 x 2.7 x 1.8 cm Fine quality, sky blue botryoidal Smithsonite from the Kelly Mine in New Mexico. This specimen has a more pure blue color than is typical (rather than blue/green) and a bright, shimmering surface luster.
AF721 - Prehnite on Tanzanite $ 3900 (=~ CAN$ 5352) Merelani Hills, Lelatema Mountains, Arusha Region, Tanzania thumbnail - 2.9 x 2 x 1 cm Killer Tanzanite thumbnail that's also a great association piece too. Fine, gemmy blue Tanzanite crystal with excellent luster and great transparency with attached large, single Prehnite crystals (analyzed) on the backside. Prehnite from Merelani is usually seen as rounded aggregates, yet on this specimen they occur as individual crystals to 7mm wide. In addition to the Prehnite, there are white crystals of an unidentified mineral also attached to the backside. A very nice Tanzanite, undamaged with TOP luster, good color and highly gemmy.
NA473 - Calcite on Conichalcite $ 150 (=~ CAN$ 206) Level 5, Mina Ojuela, Mapimi, Durango, Mexico thumbnail - 2.9 x 2.5 x 2 cm ex. Carl Acosta Translucent Calcite crystals to 2.4cm atop green Conichalcite. Stunning thumbnail sized specimen from the Carl Acosta collection.
A640 - Beryllonite with Quartz $ 300 (=~ CAN$ 412) Shengus Mine, Skardu Dist., Pakistan miniature - 3.2 x 2.0 x 2 cm Doubly terminated Beryllonite with an attached doubly terminated Quartz crystal. A highly aesthetic 'toenail' sized specimen of this rare species witht he Quartz providing a nice accent.
E101 - Cuprite $ 240 (=~ CAN$ 329) Rubtsovskiy Mine, Altaiskiy Krai, Siberia, Russia thumbnail - 3 x 2.5 x 2.0 cm Cluster of octahedral Cuprite that is complete all around. Good large crystals to 2.4cm in longest dimension, with bevelled edges. No longer being found.
E103 - Cuprite with Miersite $ 450 (=~ CAN$ 618) Rubtsovskiy Mine, Altaiskiy Krai, Siberia, Russia thumbnail - 2.4 x 1.7 x 1.7 cm Cluster of octahedral Cuprite crystals with associated bright yellow Miersite (which is a member of the chlorargyrite group of minerals). Only a small number of the recovered Cuprite specimens were associated with Miersite. Complete, undamaged floater specimen with no points of contact.
E104 - Cuprite with Silver and Copper $ 600 (=~ CAN$ 823) Rubtsovskiy Mine, Altaiskiy Krai, Siberia, Russia thumbnail - 2.6 x 2.5 x 1.9 cm Cluster of octahedral Cuprites with associated Silver and Copper. This is a fabulous, complete and undamaged floater with no points of contact. Individual crystals reach 1.7cm in size.
E108 - Cuprite with Silver $ 275 (=~ CAN$ 377) Rubtsovskiy Mine, Altaiskiy Krai, Siberia, Russia thumbnail - 1.8 x 1.5 x 1.5 cm Two intergrown octahedral Cuprite crystals with attached Silver. Complete undamaged floater though smaller crystal has an indented growth on one face.
E109 - Cuprite with Silver and Miersite $ 200 (=~ CAN$ 274) Rubtsovskiy Mine, Altaiskiy Krai, Siberia, Russia thumbnail - 2.6 x 2.3 x 2 cm Cluster of octahedral Cuprite, largest 2.2 cm with associated Silver and small amounts of Copper. Complete all around, contacting on the bottom. Bottom has attached areas of yellow Miersite.
AF647 - Tanzanite $ 2000 (=~ CAN$ 2745) Merelani Hills, Lelatema Mtns., Arusha Region, Tanzania miniature - 3.6 x 1.7 x 0.9 cm Fine quality Tanzanite, undamaged with good luster. Trichroic with nice red color when viewed from the top.
AF691 - Carrollite $ 550 (=~ CAN$ 755) Kamoya Mine, Shaba Prov., Congo miniature - 5 x 4.5 x 3.5 cm A pair of highly lustrous Carrollite crystals attached to the face of a Calcite rhomb. Largest crystal is 1.1cm.
E597 - Rhodochrosite and Sphalerite on Pyrite psuedo. Pyrrhotite $ 350 (=~ CAN$ 480) Trepca Mine, Stanterg, Kosovo small cabinet - 7.5 x 5 x 4 cm 4cm wide by 3.5cm tall crystal of Pyrrhotite that has been replaced by Pyrite, coated by pale pink spheres of Rhodochrosite.
E604 - Galena with Sphalerite $ 95 (=~ CAN$ 130) Gidiursko Mine, Madan, Rhodope Mtns., Bulgaria small cabinet - 6 x 4.5 x 3.6 cm Mirror lustrous Galena crystals with Sphalerite. Best is a 2.3cm upright spinel twin.
E609 - Sphalerite $ 280 (=~ CAN$ 384) Gidiursko Mine, Madan, Rhodope Mtns., Bulgaria miniature - 5 x 4.5 x 4 cm Sharply formed, lustrous black tetrahedral crystals of Sphalerite, some with small Sphalerites growing fromt he sides of the alrger crystals. Fine quality crystals.
