C284 - Cinnabar in Calcite $ 600

Single yellow scalenohedral Calcite crystal with a sharp phantom of Cinnabar. This is a rare specimen from the old mercury mining district of Terlingua, located near the Mexican border. Cinnabar was discovered here in the 1880s, creating a temporary mining town, now nothing remains but a ghost town.

Bright and gemmy V-twin crystal of Diaspore. This is about as free of damage as they get, with both tips undamaged with natural tapering terminations or possibly with flat contact faces on parts. It's also very glassy and bright with lots of internal transparency.

Deep purple Fluorite crystals to 2.8cm on matrix associated with Scheelite crystals and Calcite. The Scheelite crystals reach 1cm in size.

Large and impressive blue cubic Fluorite from the famous Cave-in-Rock district in Illinois. Translucent blue with color zoning. The back and sides have attached small crystals of Chalcopyrite.

Green Pyromorphite crystals on matrix from the Sherman Mine, a lesser known locality located fairly close to the Bunker Hill Mine in Idaho. Excellent coverage of good crystals on both sides of a small ridge of matrix. Old label shows a price of $950.

Pink is one the rarest colors for Tanzanite (or Zoisite if you prefer) and this one has well saturated color. Complete and undamaged. Unusual crystal from a late 2017 find.

Botryoidal crystals of Azurite with areas of bright, chatoyant Malachite. The color of the Azurite is superb, as is the combination of colors. The matrix is composed of nodules of a vitreous black mineral.

Rare specimen of pink Datolite from the Wessels Mine. There are 5 main crystals to 1.3cm that run up the center of the specimen. Crystals have glassy luster and are undamaged.
