AU713 - Bornite on Calcite $ 400 Mine 57, Dzhezkazgan, Kazakhstan miniature - 3.5 x 2.5 x 2.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Fine thumbnail featuring a superb single Bornite crystal 1.8cm in size. The Bornite is unusually sharp and well formed with a slight blueish irridescent patina. There is one shallow chip but it's in overall great condition. Bornite from this locale are considered the world's best and this is a great one in the large thumbnail/toenail size.

Bright, almost neon yellow in color. Complete all around and undamaged. Rarely available USA classic.

AU357 - Villiaumite $ 120 Aris Quarries, Windhoek, Khomas Region, Namibia thumbnail - 0.7 x 0.6 x 0.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Transparent orange Villiaumite crystal from the open pit phonolite quarries in Aris, Namibia. These quarries, along with the Kola peninsula in Russia, are the source of the world's best Villiaumite. Although larger, the Kola specimens are a darker purple red and are typically just cleavages rather than crystals. These bright orange, transparent crystals are far more aesthetic for my taste. This crystal has etched outer surfaces and is internally transparent (faceted gemstones are known from this occurrence).
