AU869 - Mimetite var. Campylite on Quartz $ 2000 Dry Gill Mine, Caldbeck Fells, Cumbria, England miniature - 3.5 x 2.5 x 2.2 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Four crystals of Mimetite var. Campylite on a terminated Quartz crystal. The Campylite reach 1cm in size and have a deep orange color. Uncommmon to find these on Quartz crystals making a superb thumbnail!
AU871 - Zincolivenite $ 2500 Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Sonora, Mexico miniature - 5 x 4 x 3 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Deep green fan-shaped crystal groups of Zincolivenite from a recent find at the Milpillas Mine. There were a few styles found, one of which were toothy clusters like these, reminiscent of Tsumeb. There is also an unidentified light green mineral present.
AU657 - Prehnite $ 450 Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania small cabinet - 5.5 x 4 x 3.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Extraordinary specimen of crystallized Prehnite from the Merelani Tanzanite mines. Two interconnected spherical clusters of larege translucent to transparent yellow crystals. Complete all around floater and one of the better examples I've seen from the locality.

AU874 - Amethyst 'barbell' Scepter $ 500 Chibuku Mine, Chiredzi mining district, Masvingo, Zimbabwe cabinet - 10 x 4.5 x 3.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Colorless Quartz crystal with Amethyst and Smoky scepters on each end forming what are called 'barbell' scepters. The larger end is complete all around, highly transparent with excellent color. The smaller end has a point of contact on the backside.
AU666 - Dioptase $ 150 Tsumeb, Namibia thumbnail - 3 x 2 x 2 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thumbnail-sized Tsumeb Dioptase specimen. A classic with big green Dioptase crystals over a layer of white Calcite. The Dioptase reach 1.5cm in size.

Transparent, complete all around, with a flat, glassy termination. Most are mere shards or fragments and complete terminated crystals such as this are are much less common. Like a number of other mineral species from Merelani, these Tremolites are considered the world's best of species.

AU875 - Atacamite $ 350 Mount Gunson Copper mines, Pernatty Lagoon, South Australia, Australia small cabinet - 5.5 x 4.2 x 3.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Free standing crystals of deep green Atacamite on matrix. Most Atacamite found at this locality are globular, rounded masses and free standing crystals such as this are much less common to find. Crystals reach 5mm in size and fill various vugs.
AU876 - Cuprite $ 1500 Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Sonora, Mexico miniature - 4.2 x 3.5 x 2 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Large, bright red crystals of Cuprite on matrix. Whereas most Milpillas Cuprite are more flat lying on matrix, this specimen features robust crystals that rise up off the matrix. Individual crystals reach 1.4cm in size and are highly translucent to transparent when backlit.
