AU502 - Emerald $ 450 (=~ CAN$ 618) Jos Plateau, Plateau, Nigeria thumbnail - 2.2 x 0.6 x 0.5 cm Single gem quality Emerald crystal from old finds in Jos, Nigeria. Highly transparent with a flat, multi-stepped termination. Complete all around and undamaged.
AU507 - Lazulite with Quartz $ 500 (=~ CAN$ 686) Rapid Creek, Yukon, Canada small cabinet - 5.5 x 5 x 4.5 cm Deep blue Lazulite crystals with transparent Quartz crystals from this well known and remote phosphate locality in the Yukon. Not only is this piece loaded with crystals with a nice overall shape, it has big crystals with individual Lazulites to 1.5cm in size.
AU512 - Aquamarine $ 600 (=~ CAN$ 823) Skardu District, Pakistan small cabinet - 7.5 x 5 x 4 cm Gem quality blue Aquamarine with Quartz and Muscovite from Pakistan. This in a older specimen with an uncommon tabular habit. The crystal is 3cm wide and 2.2cm thick. The Muscovite is greenish and translucent. Pristine.
AU513 - Bustamite $ 750 (=~ CAN$ 1029) Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia miniature - 3.5 x 2.8 x 1.5 cm Single crystal of translucent Bustamite from Broken Hill. It's well terminated with better than average color and translucency. It has typical dimpled, textured surface features and is complete all around and undamaged with the exception of one missing edge.
AU514 - Wulfenite $ 4000 (=~ CAN$ 5489) Mezica, Slovenia cabinet - 11 x 7.5 x 7 cm Cluster of interconnected orange Wulfenite crystals from Mezica, Slovenia (likely from the Staro Igrcevo Mine). There are 3 generations of Wulfenite on this large specimen, starting with thinner, more yellow bladed Wulfenite on the base, followed by thicker, tabular orange crystals. A third generation of sharp pyramidal form grew vertically off the faces of the second generation tabular crystals.
AU568 - Dioptase on Calcite $ 1800 (=~ CAN$ 2470) Tsumeb, Namibia small cabinet - 7 x 5.5 x 3 cm Clusters of sharp lustrous Dioptase crystals on white Calcite crystals. The Dioptase crystals reach 1.4cm in size and occur in two main clusters with several smaller crystals spinkled across the Calcite. Some very minor contact on the left cluster of Dioptase crystals, otherwise perfect and undamaged.
AU572 - Arsenopyrite, Siderite, Chlorite $ 250 (=~ CAN$ 343) Panasquiera, Castelo Branco, Portugal miniature - 5 x 5 x 3 cm Bright silvery metallic crystals of Arsenopyrite, tabular tan Siderite, and green Chlorite over unidentified crystals all combine to form one heck of a pretty specimen. This is one of those pieces where the closer you look, the more you like it. Ex. Angela Cannon collection.
AU573 - Cerussite $ 250 (=~ CAN$ 343) Mammoth Mine, Tiger, Arizona, USA thumbnail - 2.3 x 1.9 x 1.8 cm Glassy, complete V-twin crystal of Cerussite from Tiger. Comes with an old label from the Sterling Hill Mining Museum.
AU574 - Galena on Quartz with Chlorite $ 2500 (=~ CAN$ 3431) Madan, Rhodope Mtns., Bulgaria small cabinet - 9 x 7 x 5.5 cm Stunning specimen of Galena on Quartz crystals with small green blebs of Chlorite mixed among the Quartz. The Galena is really fantastic, with the appearance of polished chrome - it's just amazingly bright and lustrous. The main crystal is 4cm in size and fronted by a large Quartz crystal. The main Galena crystal consists of an earlier generation of Galena that was coated by Chlorite and followed by later generations of Galena, forming an interesting, complex shape.
AU576 - Grossular $ 500 (=~ CAN$ 686) Handan Pref., Hebei Prov., China small cabinet - 5.5 x 5 x 4 cm Large cluster of nothing but interconnected, gemmy Grossular garnet crystals. The crystals are an amber/yellow color and transluscent to transparent. Average crystal size is about 5mm to 1cm with the best crystal at 1.5cm. A good sized cluster for the find. There are a few contacts where this cluster grew against other garnet crystals, but the majority is clean undamaged crystals.
AU577 - Veszelyite on Plancheite $ 1600 (=~ CAN$ 2196) Kipushi Mine, Kipushi, Katanga, DR Congo miniature - 4 x 3.5 x 3 cm Sharp, isolated crystals of translucent Veszelyite spinkled across the surface of velvety sky blue Plancheite. This is an old specimen, likely from the 80s or 90s, that I've owned for about 25 years. The Velzelyite form sharp, distinct individual crystals to 3mm in size. There is an old collection number painted on the bottom that was there when I bought it.
AU578 - Spinel $ 600 (=~ CAN$ 823) Mahenge, Morogoro, Tanzania miniature - 4.3 x 4.2 x 2.5 cm Large, translucent reddish pink single Spinel crystal with some light green Pargasite attached to the back. Tall undamaged crystal with complex form.
AU579 - Chlorargyrite, Azurite, Cerussite $ 250 (=~ CAN$ 343) Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia small cabinet - 7.5 x 5 x 3.5 cm A vug in matrix is lined by glossy black Goethite which in turn hosts olive green Chlorargyrite, blue Azurite crystals, and white Cerussite crystals. Interesting combo piece for this locality.
AU582 - Malachite after Azurite $ 600 (=~ CAN$ 823) Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Sonora, Mexico small cabinet - 7 x 4 x 3.5 cm Exceptionally sharp, velvety pseudomorphs of Malachite after Azurite from the Milpillas Mine. These pseudomrophs from Milpillas are excellent, and there have been a good number produced over the years, but this one has the most well formed, crisp sharp crystals I've yet seen.
AU583 - Franklinite $ 400 (=~ CAN$ 549) Franklin, Sussex Co., New Jersey, USA small cabinet - 8.5 x 8 x 4 cm Black Franklinite crystals to over to 3cm in matrix. The largest crystal has a fracture that has possibly been repaired. The large crystals are in a matrix of white Calcite, orange Willemite, and smaller Franklinite crystals. The Willemite are bright green under fluorescent lighting.
