These were mostly found as partial or damaged crystals with complete crystals such as this much less common. Excellent form with a few small edge chips and surface pits but no significant damage. Translucent with great color, there are some darker black included areas but also areas of superb gem transparenct. Weighs 37.30 grams.

MK590 - Childrenite $ 475 Linopolis, Divino das Laranjeiras, Minas Gerais, Brazil miniature - 4.5 x 2.5 x 0.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() A large, gemmy, doubly-terminated Childrenite crystal from Linopolis, Brazil. This is a large crystal for the species and in excellent condition. Translucent with gem zones and nice smooth termination faces on each end, good on both sides.

MK593 - Alkali Beryl with Tourmaline Deo Darrah, Badakhshan, Afghanistan small cabinet - 5.5 x 4.5 x 3.3 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Intergrown cluster of tabular blue Alkali Beryl crystals, Tourmaline, and Mica. The Beryl crystals reach 1.3cm in size with glassy luster on the thin edges. The colorful Tourmaline crystals show light etching. Well crystallized all around. Note that these were once thought to be the Cesium rich species Vorobyevite but analyses did not show Cesium and this name has since been discredited.
MK594 - Apatite Dara-e-Pech, Kunar, Afghanistan small cabinet - 5.5 x 4.5 x 4 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Three crystals of translucent to transparent Apatite crystals in a vug with Quartz crystals. The crystals have good purple color with the main Apatite crystal 1cm in size. Sawcut on base and one side.
MK607 - Ludlamite with Vivianite $ 350 Cabeça do Cachorro claim, Sao Gabriel da Cachoeira, Amazonas, Brazil cabinet - 12.5 x 6 x 2.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Glassy bright green Ludlamite crystals and transparent blue/green Vivianite from a relatively new locality in northwestern Brazil. The large open vug is 10cm wide with Vivianite rising up from the bottom on the back wall covered by good sized Ludlamite crystals. Beautiful combination specimen of both species. Sawcut on base and stands on it's own perfectly for display.
MK609 - Fluorite on Albite $ 1800 Shigar Valley, Skardu, Pakistan small cabinet - 5.8 x 5 x 2.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Two gorgeous glassy and gemmy crystals of teal green Fluorite from Shigar Valley. The largest crystal is over 3cm in size and transparent enough to see through to the matrix below. Undamaged in pristine condition, the crystals contrast well against the white Albite. Shigar Fluorite are not common and MINDAT shows only 26 examples. This one, in my opinion, is more aesthetic than any of those shown. Ex. Tim Sherburn collection.
MK610 - Cuprian Smithsonite $ 1600 Tsumeb, Namibia miniature - 4 x 2.5 x 1.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Vivid lime green Smithsonite crystals on matrix from Tsumeb. The crystals are translucent to transparent and sit on a matrix of cream colored Dolomite. The main crystal group is 9mm wide and sits up off the matrix, well exposed all around. Pristine. Ex. MK615 - Lazulite with Siderite, Apatite $ 400 Rapid Creek, Yukon, Canada small cabinet - 5.5 x 4.2 x 1.7 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Deep blue Lazulite, brown Siderite, and white Apatite crystals from a well known and remote phosphate locality in the Yukon. Approximately 25 years ago I flew to Canada and bought perhaps 500 pieces of this material. I've sold them all except this one, a specimen I had kept in my collection all those years.
MK619 - Alabandite $ 350 Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania thumbnail - 3 x 2.8 x 2.6 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Complete single Alabandite crystal from the Merelani Tanzanite mines in Tanzania. This is a high quality, complete crystal with smooth faces and all 6 tips present. There is a natural pit on one side where the crystal formed around a knob of Graphite and there is some Graphite remaining, along with small Diopside crystals. Merelani Alabandite are considered the world's best and largest examples of the species. A very nice example from the Tim Sherburn collection.

MK623 - Brochantite $ 150 Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Sonora, Mexico small cabinet - 5.5 x 0.7 x 0.7 cm ![]() ![]() Large single Brochantite crystal from the Milpillas Mine. Milpillas Brochantite are considered best of species. This is a good sized example with electric green flashes of color.
MK638 - Hemimorphite on Rosasite $ 750 Yanga Koubenza, M'fouati Dist., Bouenza Dept., Republic of Congo small cabinet - 7 x 3.5 x 2.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Clusters of sky blue Hemimorphite over darker blue/green Rosasite from recent finds in the Congo. The Hemimorphite forms satiny hemispherical mounds. Most found were solid druses of Hemimorphite without Rosasite and specimens such as this with more isolated clusters on the Rosasite were uncommon. Highly aesthetic specimen for the find.
