E669 - Azurite $ 260 Blue Mine, Chessy, Rhone-Alpes, France miniature - 4 x 3.5 x 2.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Floater cluster of Azurite from the famous Chessy mines of France. This one has a neat 2.5cm wide crystal edge forming a sharp ridge right down the center. These mines are long closed and I understand these specimens were found in the 1800s. There are no points of contact, a complete floater. There is some damage on one end but overall it's in great condition.
E673 - Azurite with Malachite after Cuprite $ 200 Blue Mine, Chessy, Rhone-Alpes, France thumbnail - 3 x 2.5 x 2.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Floater cluster of Azurite from the famous Chessy mines of France. These mines are long closed and I understand these specimens were found in the 1800s. Nice crystallization with individual to over 1cm, plus a small Malachite after Cuprite crystal. There are no points of contact, a complete floater and undamaged.
E674 - Azurite $ 2500 Blue Mine, Chessy, Rhone-Alpes, France small cabinet - 5.8 x 4.3 x 4.0 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Floater cluster of Azurite from the famous Chessy mines of France. These mines are long closed and I understand these specimens were found in the 1800s. This specimen features large blocky crystals and uniform deep blue color. There are no points of contact, a complete floater and undamaged. The finest large Chessy Azurite I've ever owned.
M160 - Brochantite $ 3000 Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Sonora, Mexico cabinet - 11.5 x 8 x 3 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thick chisel-shaped crystals of deep forest green Brochantite crystals on matrix. A few of the crystals to the lower right grew against the pocket/seam wall otherwise the crystals all have wonderful sharp terminations. These are thick, robust crystals from a 2014 find and are much different in style than earlier finds from the mine which were usually more fragile, hair-like crystals.
M166 - Brochantite $ 225 Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Sonora, Mexico thumbnail - 1.9 x 1.7 x 1.1 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Thick, deep forest green Brochantite crystals with high luster on matrix. Nice chisel-shaped terminations. These are thick, robust crystals from a 2014 find and are much different in style than earlier finds from the mine which were usually more fragile, hair-like crystals.
M169 - Azurite $ 1200 Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Sonora, Mexico miniature - 4.2 x 3 x 2 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Bright, electric blue Azurite crystals from the watercourse pocket. Two larger intergrown crystals form the backdrop for a number of smaller crystals projecting forward. Undamaged.
TZ470 - Dravite $ 400 Mwajanga, near Komolo, Tanzania small cabinet - 6.5 x 1.8 x 1.1 cm ![]() ![]() Large, light brown gem crystal with great luster.
TZ478 - Dravite Mwajanga, near Komolo, Tanzania small cabinet - 7.7 x 2.8 x 2.3 cm ![]() ![]() Large gemmy brown Dravite with a complex termination. Only the bottom portion is backlit inthe second photo but you can see that it is very gemmy. Big crystal that weighs 90.6 grams.
TZ482 - Dravite $ 290 Mwajanga, near Komolo, Tanzania thumbnail - 1.7 x 1.1 x 0.8 cm ![]() ![]() Facet grade rootbeer colored Dravite crystal with a complex termination. Complete and undamaged.
CO107 - Malachite after Cuprite $ 350 Nchanga Mine, Chingola, Zambia thumbnail - 1.9 x 1.7 x 1.5 cm ![]() ![]() Intergrown octahedral Malachite after Cuprite crystals from a 1979 find in Zambia, just released for the first time. Complete and undamaged except for one micro chip on one corner.
SA711 - Chrysoberyl $ 750 Santa Teresa, Espirito Santo, Brazil thumbnail - 2.3 x 2.1 x 0.6 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Beautiful and gemmy V-twin Chrysoberyl from Brazil. Good Chrysoberl specimens are always hard to find. This is a well terminated, complete and undamaged crystal. Ex. Tim Sherburn.
SA720 - Brazilianite $ 300 Telerio Mine, Mendes Pimental, Minas Gerais, Brazil miniature - 3.7 x 3.0 x 2.4 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Attractive cluster of glassy and gemmy Brazilianite with the main crystal a thick 3.5cm long crystal. Undamaged and sits upright on its own.
TU231 - Dravite Mwajanga, near Komolo, Tanzania small cabinet - 5.5 x 1.5 x 1 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Gem quality rootbeer brown Dravite crystal with a complex, stepped termination. An unusual feature of this crystal is a thin horzontal zone of cat's-eye that runs through the middle of the crystal, causing it to slightly offset, how this formed is a mystery to me. Complete and undamaged.
B109 - Anatase Kharan Mountain, Balochistan, Pakistan small cabinet - 7.5 x 7 x 3 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Anatase crystals to 1.1cm on an Albite coated matrix with gem transparent Quartz crystals. The Quartz are hard to see in the photos (they are exceptionally clear!), but they are really nice.
TZ507 - Dravite $ 300 Mwajanga, near Komolo, Tanzania miniature - 3.6 x 1.6 x 1.1 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Well terminated gem Dravite. Uncommonly good quality, with most of the crystal facet grade.
