Veszelyite on Hemimorphite

Eleven specimens of Veszelyite on blue Hemimorphite from the initial 2021 find at the Palabanda Quarry in the Republic of Congo (plus 3 specimens from the more recent 2022 find).  These are from a flat of the better material from the initial find that were put aside at the time and are offered for sale here now for the first time.

Sparkling deep blue crystals of Veszelyite on sky blue Hemimorphite. The crystals are more isolated to the left and get more clustered together towards the upper right. Great overall coverage, sparkle, and color. The locality is a former Limestone quarry with Lead, Zinc, and Copper mineralization that closed in 2018.

Vivid bright blue crystals of Veszelyite on sky blue Hemimorphite. The Veszelyite crystals reach 4mm in size and make for a good thumbnail for the find. The Hemimorphite forms a botryoidal surface with a beautiful color contrast to the Veszelyite. The locality is a former Limestone quarry with Lead, Zinc, and Copper mineralization that closed in 2018.

Isolated deep blue crystals of Veszelyite on sky blue Hemimorphite. The Veszelyite crystals reach 3mm in size and are well separated. Micro greenish/blue crystals of Kipushite, a rare copper and zinc phosphate species, are present on the Hemimorphite. Mined in 2022. The locality is a former Limestone quarry with Lead, Zinc, and Copper mineralization that closed in 2018.

The Hemimorphite forms a botryoidal surface with a beautiful color contrast to the Veszelyite. Great coverage of larger sized crystals. Fine specimen of deep blue crystals of Veszelyite on sky blue Hemimorphite. The Veszelyite crystals reach 4mm in size almost completely cover the Hemimorphite, though some 'fingers' of Hemimorphite stick up through the veszelyite. The locality is a former Limestone quarry with Lead, Zinc, and Copper mineralization that closed in 2018.

Isolated deep blue crystals of Veszelyite on blue Hemimorphite. The Veszelyite crystals reach 6mm in size. The smaller crystals are sharply formed and the larger crystals are present near the upper right. The Hemimorphite forms a botryoidal surface with a beautiful color contrast to the Veszelyite. Good larger sized example from the find. The locality is a former Limestone quarry with Lead, Zinc, and Copper mineralization that closed in 2018.

Fine thumbnail-sized specimen of deep blue crystals of Veszelyite on sky blue Hemimorphite. Sharply formed, isolated crystals make this one of my favorite specimens I've seen from the find. The crystals reach 6mm in size and are prefect except for a tiny chip on the tip of one crystal. Still, this one is spectacular. Micro greenish/blue crystals of Kipushite, a rare copper and zinc phosphate species, are present on the Hemimorphite. The locality is a former Limestone quarry with Lead, Zinc, and Copper mineralization that closed in 2018.

Deep blue crystals of Veszelyite on sky blue Hemimorphite. The Veszelyite occurs as both larger crystal groups and a single isolated 5mm crystal. Micro greenish/blue crystals of Kipushite, a rare copper and zinc phosphate species, are present on the Hemimorphite. The locality is a former Limestone quarry with Lead, Zinc, and Copper mineralization that closed in 2018.

Dark blue areas of Veszelyite in other areas can be seen beneath a layer of Hemimorphite. Mined in 2022.
