AU581 - Pyromorphite $ 300 SOLD Wheatley Mine, Phoenixville, Chester Co., Pennsylvania, USA miniature - 3.5 x 3.5 x 2.2 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Cluster of olive green Pyromorphite crystals from the historic Wheatley Mine in Pennsylvania. The specimen is all Pyromorphite and has crystals all around - it's a near floater with just one small point of contact at the rear base. A USA classic from a historic old Lead and Silver mine. In excellent condition, espcially considering this piece could date back to the 1800s. Has a small plastic display stand attached to the back. Ex. Bob Reynolds collection.
AU582 - Malachite after Azurite $ 600 Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Sonora, Mexico small cabinet - 7 x 4 x 3.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Exceptionally sharp, velvety pseudomorphs of Malachite after Azurite from the Milpillas Mine. These pseudomrophs from Milpillas are excellent, and there have been a good number produced over the years, but this one has the most well formed, crisp sharp crystals I've yet seen.
AU583 - Franklinite $ 400 Franklin, Sussex Co., New Jersey, USA small cabinet - 8.5 x 8 x 4 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Black Franklinite crystals to over to 3cm in matrix. The largest crystal has a fracture that has possibly been repaired. The large crystals are in a matrix of white Calcite, orange Willemite, and smaller Franklinite crystals. The Willemite are bright green under fluorescent lighting.
AU584 - Molybdenite $ 350 Wolfram Camp Mine, Queensland, Australia small cabinet - 7.5 x 4.5 x 3 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() A sharp 2.5cm single Molybdenite crystal in crystalline white Quartz. A perfect single hexagon, which is less common for this locality as compared to the more typical thick aggregates of crystals. This could be trimmed down to a fine miniature.
AU586 - Copper $ 250 Poteryaevskoe Mine, Rubtsovskoe Deposit, Western Siberia, Russia miniature - 3.3 x 2 x 1.2 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Well crystallized Copper specimen from Russia with a superb tall single crystal rising up in the center. Sharply formed crystals all around.
AU587 - Diopside on Graphite $ 350 Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania miniature - 3.7 x 2.5 x 1.8 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Three thick green Diopside crystals on crystallized Graphite from the Merelani Tanzanite mines. All 3 crystals are well terminated and the larger two crystals point in opposite directions.
AU588 - Boracite $ 450 Boulby Potash Mine, Loftus, Cleveland, England miniature - 4.5 x 3.5 x 1.3 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Bright, sparkling crystals of blue Boracite on the front and back of specimen. The crystals are good sized reaching 4mm in diameter. Colorful and rich example of essentially nothing but Boracite crystals.
AU589 - Tremolite $ 950 Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania miniature - 4.8 x 2.7 x 1.1 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Large single green Tremolite crystal from the Merelani Tanzanite mines. This is a big one with a smooth, flat termination face and typical splintery edges. Gemmy with superb, vivid green coloration. These are only occassionally found and usually in smaller sizes - at nearly 5cm tall this is much bigger than most. I have seen some longer than 4.8cm, but they are usually thinner crystals - this one is thick and robust.
AU590 - Heliodor $ 2500 SOLD Bahia, Brazil thumbnail - 2.3 x 2.2 x 1.4 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Single gem Heliodor crystal from Brazil. This is nearly all transparent, facet quality Heliodor with top saturated pure yellow color. Well terminated and complete all around. There is a small area of contact/growth interuption (not damage) along one termination edge, otherwise it's perfect. Ex. Steve Smale collection with his old label. Weighs 62.4 carats (Note that this crystal has significant gem rough value. A hypothetical 35% yield would give 21 carats in gems, and with top color Heliodor selling for $150-$200/carat, a hypothetical $3,150-$4,200 value).
AU591 - Caledonite with Cerussite $ 400 SOLD Mammoth St Anthony Mine, Tiger, Pinal Co., Arizona, USA miniature - 4 x 3 x 1.8 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Vibrant, translucent blue Caledonite crystals with white, reticulated Cerussite. A classic rarity from Tiger.

AU593 - Gratonite $ 180 SOLD Excelsior Mine, Cerro de Pasco, Peru thumbnail - 2 x 1.8 x 1.2 cm ![]() ![]() Silvery colored cluster of Gratonite, a rare lead arsenic sulfide. Well formed bright crystals spraying out in all directions. This is an uncommon matrix specimen (most are loose clusters without matrix). There are some missing crystals that don't really detract from the overall aesthetic of this cute thumbnail.
AU594 - Amethyst $ 400 Las Vigas, Vera Cruz, Mexico cabinet - 10 x 8.5 x 6 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Colorful, fine quality Amethyst specimen from Las Vigas. The Amethyst occur on a highly textured matrix colored green by coatings of Epidote that creates a great color contrast against the deep purple Amethyst. The Amethyst are mostly doubly-terminated, undamaged, and highly transparent. The largest crystal is 3.3cm long. Great specimen that's a little different looking than your average Las Vigas Amethyst.
AU595 - Brucite $ 650 Killa Saifullah, Balochistan, Pakistan cabinet - 11 x 4.5 x 3.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Bright lemon yellow Brucite crystals from the original finds of a couple years ago.
