Transparent single yellow crystal of Thaumasite, a rare mineral species related to Ettringite and Sturmanite found in the Kalahari Manganese fields of South Africa. These were found in the 1990s and I used to be able to buy them many years ago from South African dealer Clive Quiet until supplies dried up. I was fortunate to find this crystal recently from someone who had also bought this from Clive Quiet and stockpiled it until now. It's a complete, undamaged single crystal with great luster and total transparency. A rare, now hard to find gem quality crystal.

These were found in the 1990s and I used to be able to buy them many years ago from South African dealer Clive Quiet until supplies dried up. I was fortunate to find this specimen recently from someone who had also bought this from Clive Quiet and stockpiled it until now. It's a rare matrix specimen from the find. Even while these were available, matrix specimens were always rare, as most were loose single crystals. Some crystals show some wear, regardless, it's a hard to find rarity.

Cluster of lustrous metallic Manganite crystals from Atikokan. At first glance I thought this was from Ilfeld, Germany because the crystals were so much larger than what I normally see from Canadian Manganite - it has crystals to 1.8cm tall. This is a well documented specimen from the JIm Watson collection (with label and old photograph), and comes with another old label from George and Susan Robinson Minerals that dates to 1978.
