MK302 - Silver on Copper $ 3500 (=~ € 3215) Rockland Mine, Rockland, Ontonagon Co., Michigan, USA miniature - 3.5 x 3 x 2.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Silver crystals on Copper from the Rockland Mine in Michigan. The Silver is well crystallized and sits atop a small amount of Copper. This can be displayed from a variety of angles but I like it how it's shown in the first photo with the large 2.5cm somewhat horizontal Silver crystal facing forward. Ex. Tim Sherburn collection.
MK303 - Aquamarine with Quartz $ 1500 (=~ € 1378) SOLD Mourne Mountains, County Down, Ireland miniature - 3.4 x 1.5 x 1.2 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Transparent, double terminated Aqua from the Mourne Mountains in Ireland. MK304 - Liroconite on Quartz $ 9800 (=~ € 9002) Wheal Gorland, St Day, Cornwall, England, United Kingdom small cabinet - 6.2 x 5 x 4 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Good sized and exceptionally rich specimen of Lironconite and Quartz from Cornwall. The Lironconite is present on all sides and the color is outstanding, an intense teal blue. The crystals are good sized and reach up to 1cm wide. The last photo shows a 4cm terminated Quartz crystal with an isolated 9mm Lironconite attached (along with other Lironconite). An adventurous trimmer could likely turn this into 2-3 good specimens, including one with the terminated Quartz crystal, but I like it as is for it's richness and size. Liroconite is a rare copper species with the best specimens found at this mine, which is also the type locality for the species. Wheal Gorland began operation in 1792 and the best Liroconite specimens were found in the mid 1800s. The combination of rarity and beauty keep these in high demand and they are only rarely available for sale.
