Intergrown pair of color zoned Fluorite crystals on matrix aesthetically crowned by Celestite crystals. The Fluorite crystals are pristine, reach 3.5cm in size and have rich color with high luster. Highly artistic example with great balance and form. In my 25 years in the mineral business, I can't recall a Clay Center Fluorite I've liked more than this.

Glassy apple-green crystals of Apophyllite in an absurdly aesthetic bow-tie cluster.  This specimen is the epitome of natural art.  The cluster of Apophyllite crystals are perched dramatically atop peach colored Stilbite crystals. In the world of Apophyllite specimens, one in thousand is a bow-tie formation. Of those few, 99 percent have damage of some kind. Do the math, this is a special and rare specimen. Classic lustrous brown Pyromorphite crystals on a Galena rich matrix from Bad Ems, Germany. Ex. John Sinkankas specimen and has his collection number ('JS PYM 2) painted on the bottom. This specimen is also illustrated on page 421 of Sinkankas' famous book 'Mineralogy for Amateurs'. Complete crystal group of the rare mineral Volkovskite from the Boulby Mine in England. This is one of only two known terminated crystal groups collected from a single find made deep in a section of the mine that extends out under the Altlantic ocean. The Volkovskite was found during normal mining operations for potash when the mine machinery stalled when it encountered a mass of the much harder Volkovskite. Because Volkovskite damages mine machinery, the area where it was found is now avoided and it is unclear if anymore will be recovered. This recent find of Volkovskite has set the world standard for the species and this specimen is one of the best. The specimen has crystallized surfaces all around - most were just cleavages (the cleavage structure can be seen on the bottom of this specimen, last photo).

Elegant specimen of a faden Quartz crystal on a matrix of non-faden Quartz crystals from Pakistan. For my taste, this single isolated faden attached to prismatic Quartz crystals is over the top aesthetically. The faden is 5.5cm tall and absolutely perfect, a stunning and highly artistic example. Stunning and important Benitoite/Neptunite specimen from the Gem Mine in California. This specimen is composed of a flat schist matrix partially covered by white Natrolite hosting two large Benitoite, Neptunite, and a single Joaquinite crystal. The largest Benitoite is 3cm wide (and the second crystal is not much smaller). The truely great Gem Mine specimens are composed of Benitoite, Neptunite, and Joaquinite on white Natrolite - this specimen checks all the boxes. This visually appealling specimen was in the personal collection of the late California mineral dealer Al McGuinness. Al was an active dealer in California during the heyday of Benitoite mining and had the opportunity to select the best. The fact that he kept this particular specimen speaks to it's exceptional quality and visual appeal. 

Large, lustrous Dioptase crystals on white Calcite from Tsumeb, Namibia. The Dioptase crystals reach 2.3cm in size and are translucent to transparent.  Although Dioptase specimens are found at other worldwide localities, those from Tsumeb, especially on white Calcite crystals, are considered the world's best and let's face it, Tsumeb is the magic word to most connoisseurs of fine mineral specimens. The Dioptase crystals show a unique fine etching that extends into the gemmy crystals. Dioptase is notoriously difficult to photograph and this is MUCH better in person. At 12cm wide, this is a large and significant Tsumeb Dioptase.

Sculptural specimen of gem quality Morganite from Brazil. This has been naturally etched in the pegmatite yielding this remarkably formed specimen. There are a few hard to notice chips, including on one side of the upright top crystallized section. Regardless, it has uncommon beauty and is a rarity. Comes with a custom Lucite display stand.

Icey-blue specimen of gem quality Aquamarine from Brazil. This has been naturally etched in the pegmatite yielding this remarkably formed specimen.  This Aquamarine is like frozen ice that never melts. This specimen is pristine with hundreds of glassy faces on all sides.

Quartz crystals (smokey and Amethyst) replacing a long Anhydrite crystal from Brazil. This rare pseudomorph has alot of character. The shape of the former Anhydrite with Quartz crystals along the edges reminds me of a chain saw blade. Translucent to transparent, pristine with an abundance of life, a truely unique specimen. Comes with an old Ken Roberts label.  Ken is a mineral dealer noted for his high level of taste and aesthetics.

Colorful combination specimen of Inesite and associated minerals from the Daye Mine in China. Bright red rosettes of Inesite to 2cm in diameter are attached to clear Quartz crystals (most Inesite has a brown component that this one is lacking). Associated minerals include Pyrite and clear, tabular Apophyllite. Comes with a custom Lucite display stand.

Blocky, deep blue/green crystals of Apophyllite from India. Uncommonly high quality example of Apophyllite crystals colored blue/green due to inclusions of Celadonite. Minerals from the Deccan Plateau in India are abundant, but not like this. Pristine, uncommonly rare and aesthetic. Comes with a custom Lucite display stand.

Tall, slender crystal of Azurite partially pseudomorphed to Malachite with Arsentsumebite from Tsumeb. The crystal rises up off a 'matrix' of other partial crystals. The Azurite areas have glassy luster while the Malachite has a velvety luster, contributing to a contrast of textures and colors that work exceptionally well together.  A Tsumeb classic... Comes with a couple old labels, including one from Anton Berger (a German mineral dealer who specialized in Tsumeb specimens) and another that shows an old price of $1250.

Important blue/green to yellow crystals of rare Willemite from Tsumeb. The Willemite formed in a stalactitic fashion around Goethite. Willemite is one of the holy grail minerals from Tsumeb.  This well crystallized specimen actually has 3 distinct colorations of the Willemite - blue green, light green, and yellow/brown.  Of the Tsumeb classic minerals, the size and the form of this Willemite make it highly desireable to the connoisseur of classic minerals.
