This is a rare matrix specimen from the 2016 find (nearly all were loose single crystals). There are at least five terminated crystals and many more partial crystals. There is a flat lying crystal 1.9cm long and totally transparent, and a thicker transparent green crystal 1.1cm wide that extends down into the matrix. This was the best matrix piece out of the few available that I could find back in 2016, and I am offering it now for the first time.
ST131 - Calcite $ 750 (=~ CAN$ 964) Rattlesnake Butte, Jackson Co., South Dakota, USA large cabinet - 16 x 11 x 6.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Double-terminated Calcite crystals heavily included by sand. A very clean, large example from this famous and now closed locality. Amazingly perfect for such a large and complex specimen, I could only find one crystal that had a contact. Easily the best example from this locality that I've ever had.
