Complete tetrahedron of Chambersite, a rare mineral found in salt formations in a small number of localities worldwide. There is damage along one edge, otherwise it's perfect with a dark purple color. This locality is on a narrow strip of land that extends out into the Gulf of Mexico to the southeast of New Orleans in an area that was severely damaged by Hurricane Katrina. This crystal was collected by Fred Pough in 1970. Ex. Chuck Trantham collection.

Complete tetrahedron of Chambersite, a rare mineral found in salt formations in a small number of localities worldwide. It has a medium purple color and a smaller crystal sticking out one side. This locality is on a narrow strip of land that extends out into the Gulf of Mexico to the southeast of New Orleans in an area that was severely damaged by Hurricane Katrina.
