The Prehnite occurs as interconnected spheres comprising the entire specimen. The backside has a bit of attached rock, but also displays great crystallization. Chatham first started experimenting growing crystals in his garage as a 12 year old boy, later graduated from the California Institute of Technology, and perfected the process to grow emeralds in 1938. These are real Emeralds, just grown in a lab simulating natural processes of the earth.
