D349 - Liddicoatite $ 650 (=~ AUS$ 991) Betafo District, Antananarivo Province, Madagascar miniature - 4 x 2.3 x 2 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Transparent single Liddicoatite crystal with a yellow/brown base grasing up to a more reddish brown at the termination. Complete all around and somewhat rectangular in cross-section. Unusual crystal weighing 31.5 grams.
D331 - Tsavorite $ 180 (=~ AUS$ 274) SOLD Merelani Hills, ARusha, Tanzania thumbnail - 2 x 1.9 x 1.4 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Complete single Tsavorite crystal. Good sized crystal and also, despite a few tiny indentations, a complete undamaged floater. Has a more satiny luster (versus glassy), otherwise this would be in the four figures.
D351 - Smokey Quartz on Feldspar $ 120 (=~ AUS$ 183) SOLD Dogtooth Peak, Fresno Co., California, USA miniature - 4 x 3.5 x 3 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Smokey Quartz on Feldspar from a well known California locality. This is a great example out of an old collection. The Quartz is 2.5cm and transparent - much more so than average specimens from the locality, and in perfect condition. A fine quality specimen, especially for a California suite.
D206 - Rhodochrosite, Arsenopyite, Sphalerite, Calcite $ 220 (=~ AUS$ 335) SOLD Trepca, Mitrovica, Kosovo miniature - 4 x 2.5 x 2.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Aesthetic stacked group of minerals. A large Sphalerite upon with grew bright metallic Arsenopyrite crystals, upon which grew pink botryoidal Rhodochrosite, upon which grew Calcite crystals. There is a bit of contacting on the Calcite on the backside, otherwise it's complete and perfect all around. A really lovely piece!
M709 - Enstatite $ 125 (=~ AUS$ 191) SOLD Kilosa, Morogoro, Tanzania thumbnail - 1.6 x 0.5 x 0.4 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Complete single gem crystal, facet quality. Good luster and a good, though slightly etched, termination. Crystals from this find are usually only suitable for facet rough as most are unterminated and etched, in fact this crystal was pulled from facet rough. Specimen quality Enstatite crystals are uncommon.
D294 - Tarnowitzite $ 125 (=~ AUS$ 191) Tsumeb, Namibia miniature - 4.5 x 4 x 3 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Pearlescent white Tarnowitzite crystals covering the top surface of matrix. A Tsumeb classic.
D111 - Azurite $ 300 (=~ AUS$ 457) Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Sonora, Mexico miniature - 4.8 x 4 x 2 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Large single crystal likely from the Milpillas Mine. This was shipped to me directly from Mexico from a miner who claimed it was from Sierra Rica, however it looks more like a Milpillas Mine crystal. At any rate, it's a big, showy single crystal crystallized on all sides, front and back, with some bits of matrix intergrown in areas. ©2010-2018 Marin Mineral |
