K456 - Quartz on Fluorite $ 950 (=~ CAN$ 1304) SOLD Cave-in-Rock, Hardin Co., Illinois, USA large cabinet - 16 x 12 x 8.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Large color-zoned Fluorite with attached Quartz crystals. Big and showy, it's also nearly pristine, I could only fine one tiny edge chip. The out layer is purple with an inner lavender/pink coloration. The Quartz crystals are spinkled on all sides and reach 2.5cm in size, some double-terminated.
K454 - Prehnite epimorph after Anhydrite $ 650 (=~ CAN$ 892) SOLD Djouga Diggings, Diakon, Kayes Region, Mali small cabinet - 7.4 x 5.5 x 5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Velvety green Prehnite that formed over (now gone) Anhydrite crystals, leaving this rare and wonderful specimen. Transluscent and undamaged. The inside shows the flat, smooth surfaces of 3 former Anhydrite crystals.
K455 - Prehnite on Andradite $ 650 (=~ CAN$ 892) SOLD Djouga Diggings, Diakon, Kayes Region, Mali small cabinet - 5.5 x 5 x 5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Green Prehnite covering one face of a large, dark brown Andradite crystal. The Andradite is 4.5cm wide. I found one small edge chip, otherwise undamaged. This is an uncommon specimena nd I've only seen a couple others with Prehnite on the Andradite.
K477 - Variscite $ 500 (=~ CAN$ 686) SOLD Ribeirao Cascalheira, Mato Grosso, Brazil small cabinet - 6 x 4.5 x 4 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Two spherical clusters of Variscite crystals in a vug in Quartz. I obtained this specimen from dealer Steve Perry about 20 years ago during a visit to his home following one of his many trips to Brazil. This was the best of his specimens, with better color and sparkle than the rest. Variscite is usually found in massive form, rarely as crystals.

Big and showy, in great condition with just a few small edge chips. The out layer is purple with an inner light lavender/pink coloration.
K465 - Prehnite $ 500 (=~ CAN$ 686) SOLD Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania small cabinet - 5.5 x 4 x 3.2 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Oval shaped group of Prehnite crystals that radiate out from the center. A translucent mass of solid crystals, this is one of the finest specimens from a large lot of recently mined and purchased Prehnite specimens from the Merelani Tanzanite mines. The base is naturally smooth and flat where it grew against a Calcite crystal. The larger crystals appear to have grown from a central sphere of Prehnite. Like nearly all of these, there are a couple nicked crystals, but regardless, it's a really good one.
K464 - Prehnite SOLD Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania small cabinet - 5.5 x 5.5 x 2.2 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Rosette shaped groups of translucent yellow Prehnite crystals. Great color and large crystals, this is one of the finest specimens from a large lot of recently mined and purchased Prehnite specimens from the Merelani Tanzanite mines. The back smooth and flat where it grew against Graphite. It's pristine except for light chipping along the top edge and a partial Tanzanite crystal intergrown in the lower right side.

Great color and large crystals, this is one of the finest specimens from a large lot of recently mined and purchased Prehnite specimens from the Merelani Tanzanite mines. The main rosette is 4cm tall and sits nearly vertically for display. The larger crystals appear to have grown from a central sphere of Prehnite. The bottom is somewhat flat where it grew against Graphite. It's pristine except for light chipping on some crystals and a contacted backside.
K400 - Silver in Calcite $ 750 (=~ CAN$ 1029) SOLD Cobalt, Ontario, Canada large cabinet - 19 x 9.5 x 2.3 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Thick, heavy vein section of Silver in Calcite, a 2.3cm thick slab sawcut on both sides. There is a layer of solid Silver along the more straight edge, with the rest of the specimen filled with more dendritic Silver. Visually, it appears to be 40-50% Silver, and by weight, a much larger percentage. The specimen is quite hefty and was the best slab (richest, largest, thickest) out a large lot of Cobalt Silver I purchased from a Canadian miner over 20 years ago.

K471 - Lawsonite $ 750 (=~ CAN$ 1029) SOLD Reed Station, Marin Co., California, USA small cabinet - 5.5 x 4 x 4 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Rare blue/grey Lawsonite crystals to 1.5cm embedded in Glaucophane schist. The main crystal is sharply formed and exposed fromt he schist on both sides. This is the single best example I've had and was in my collection for 20 years. From the type locality for Lawsonite.

This is a beautiful example and comes with an old Roberts Minerals label. Ken and Rosemary Roberts had great taste in minerals, and whenever I find of their old specimens, they usually stand out.

K478 - Peridot $ 650 (=~ CAN$ 892) SOLD Pyaung Gaung, Mogok, Myanmar (Burma) thumbnail - 2.7 x 0.8 x 0.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Gem Peridot crystal from Mogok, known for the finest Peridot in the world. These are seldom seen and much less common than Pakistani Peridot crystals. Like many from the locality it has a dimpled surface and internally transparent. It's also crudely double-terminated.
