D166 - Pezzottaite $ 500 (=~ AUS$ 762) SOLD Sakavalana Mine, Ambatovita, Madagascar thumbnail - 2 x 1.5 x 0.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Single complete Pezzottaite crystal (Caesium rich Beryl) with a raspberry red color and good transparency. The crystal has a broad, smooth front face with bevelled edges and a more etched and stepped growth on the backside. Undamaged, rare crystal.

This specimen is from the collection of a mine Geologist who estimated there is about a half ounce of Gold in the specimen and also identified areas of Petzite and Calaverite. The entire specimen weighs 33.8 grams. With Gold currently trading at over $1400/ounce, there's an estimated $700 worth of Gold in the specimen.

These are sometimes called 'ruby silvers' and show a bright cherry red color. Translucent and relatively undamaged with a couple potential contacts on the back side. Just released from an old collection. I took one shot with close overhead lighting and another with backlighting to show the translucent red color. A rare and historic specimen.

D174 - Malachite over Cuprite $ 350 (=~ AUS$ 534) Ongonja, Seeis, Namibia thumbnail - 2.1 x 2 x 1.8 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Well formed crystal of Cuprite covered with a thin coating of Malachite on a small amount of Calcite matrix. The Cuprite in these specimens are often transparent and faceted into gemstones. These are classics and now hard to find. The main crystal shows good well defined edges and is 2cm wide. There is a partial crystal on the back, which I actually like because it offers a window into the bright red Cuprite interior but does not detract when viewed from the front.

The crystal shows good well defined edges and is almost completely covered by Malachite. there is a small chip on the back that gives a window into the bright red Cuprite interior but does not detract when viewed from the front.

The crystals are transparent to translucent with a deep cherry red coloration. Very bright and translucent all the way through. A cluster of crystals with one more isolated crystal. There are a few cleaved tips but most are perfect and undamaged. Rare and hard to find specimen just released from a collection. A real jewel!
