J276 - Smithsonite on Tennantite after Azurite $ 3500 SOLD Tsumeb, Namibia small cabinet - 7 x 6 x 3 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Cluster of Tennantite after Azurite crystals covered by Smithsonite crystals. This is the most aesthetic example of this Tsumeb psuedomorph I have seen, and only one of very few that have the associated Smithsonite. It's a floater crystallized all around with a tall 4cm main crystal rising straight up out of the group. The small black areas are not damage - just areas where the Tennantite is corroded and Smithsonite did not grow. The main crystal is completely covered by Smithsonite on the backside and shows mostly Tennantite on the front side. Comes with a custom Lucite base that says 'Tennanite after Anhydrite", though I have only ever seen these called Tennantite after Azurite.
J278 - Chalcedony after 'Bambu' $ 250 SOLD Central Java, Indonesia cabinet - 11 x 4 x 3 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Translucent, finger-like formations of Chalcedony beleived to have formed after wetland plants known locally as 'Bambu'. These were first discovered in 2009 and occur as singles or large clusters, mostly with broken ends. This is a high quality example in a good size range.
J253 - Agate after Pine Cone $ 200 SOLD Dahkla, Western Sahara, Morocco small cabinet - 5.3 x 2.1 x 1.9 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Fossil Pine cone replaces by solid brown agate. Eocene in age. Complete all around and in great condition.
J256 - Bornite after Carrollite $ 1800 SOLD Kamoya Mine, Katanga, Congo (DRC) miniature - 5 x 4.5 x 4 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Large and lustrous Bornite after Carrollite crystal, 3.5cm wide, on a Bornite matrix with other smaller crystals. The price would be justified simply as a Carrollite of this size and quality on matrix, but even more so as this uncommon psuedomorph, it's really special. Analyzed. ©2010-2018 Marin Mineral |
