Merelani Apatite

A new find of Apatite from the Karo Pit in Merelani Hills, Tanzania.  These gemmy light blue Apatites have always been scarce at the deposit, with only an occasional single crystal seen for sale. I had one good lot back in 2015, and other than that, I've only handled a few crystals, and most were very small Apatites associated with other minerals. The crystals are a good medium blue and many are entirely gem quality.

Terminated single gem crystal of blue Apatite. Superb luster and facet grade for it's entire length. Undamaged though backside is indented where another crystal grew.
