A220 - Aquamarine SOLD Shigar Valley, Skardu District, Pakistan small cabinet - 6.9 x 2.1 x 1.7 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Highly glassy and transparent Aqua with superb luster on the faces and matte luster on the bevel edges of the terminations. The smaller diameter crystal rising through the main makes this one stand out among other similar single Aqua crystals. The sides are perfect except for one small area of contact and another small divot where a 3mm Tantalite (?) crystal is intergrown with the Aqua. Good blue color. Ex. Laura Thompson, Jon Sigerman collections.

The green outer zone is Liddicoatite while the red core is Elbaite. Complete and undamaged with neat multifaceted termination.

The green outer zone is Liddicoatite while the red core is Elbaite. Undamaged with neat multifaceted termination, however backside has contacting where other crystal grew along side it, which is somewhat of a bonus as it reveals the red inner core.

A226 - Pyrite on Quartz $ 50 (=~ ¥ 7419) SOLD Shangbao Mine, Hunan Prov., China small cabinet - 8.5 x 3.5 x 3 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Pale green Quartz with unusual habit with an attached small pyrite cube near the base. The crystal is composed of hundreds of smaller Quartz crystals which cumulatively retain the six sided form of a single Quartz. This is one of the very best of a parcel of similar crystals I bought several years ago that I just "found" while digging through some flats.
A227 - Anatase $ 200 (=~ ¥ 29675) SOLD Kharan Mountain, Balochistan, Pakistan small cabinet - 5.5 x 5.5 x 2 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Fine quality Anatase crystals on matrix. A total of 10 crystals that contrast well against the sparkly druse of tiny Albite and Quartz crystals. The tips of the crystals show good translucency. Though priced much lower, these Anatase are every bit as good in quality as their Norwegian counterparts, and are currently plentiful but may not be so in the near future.

This was found very near Furka Pass, on the border between Valais and Uri cantons, in the highest ground between the upper Rhone glacier and Damma glacier.
