AF644 - Tanzanite SOLD Merelani Hills, Lelatema Mtns., Arusha Region, Tanzania small cabinet - 7.7 x 3.2 x 3 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Exceedingly rare cluster of gem Tanzanite crystals! Tanzanite crystals are usually found as single crystals embedded in matrix, and to have a pocket large enough for open growth of a 7.7cm crystal cluster is rare. 6 crystals of gem quality, lavender color, all undamaged except for one small ding on the side of a lesser crystal. Some attached Diopside and Graphite on backside. Spectacular, unique Tanzanite.
A160 - Sapphire $ 2900 (=~ CAN$ 3980) SOLD Ratnapura, Sri Lanka small cabinet - 5.6 x 3.9 x 2.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Tall, translucent blue Sapphire crystal cluster with surprisingly sharp crystal form given that most are found a water worn crystals. Beautiful blue color and very good sized. Lots of smaller crystals sticking out from the main crystal, all are terminated and the cluster is undamaged except for one small ding on a side crystal and a place on the backside where another small crystal was attached. Clusters such as this are much more uncommon than the typical single crystals. Adding even interest are numerous small, lime green crystals on and within the Sapphire, possibly Tourmaline or Spinel.
SA161 - Aquamarine $ 4200 (=~ CAN$ 5764) SOLD Jaqueto Mine, Bahia, Brazil cabinet - 9.5 x 2.9 x 2 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Etched floater Aqua crystal, gem quality inside. Beautiful etching all around and transparent, the photos really speak for themselves here. Old specimen from one of the most famous Aqua finds ever. These have always been desirable and costly due to their value as cutting rough for gemstones.
A162 - Pyromorphite $ 4500 (=~ CAN$ 6175) SOLD Daoping Mine, Guangxi Prov., China cabinet - 9.5 x 8 x 5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Rich green Pyro specimen from the early finds at the Daoping Mine. Thick specimen with rolling clusters of lustrous crystals, a couple missing crystals which does not significantly detract from the piece. There is more depth to this specimen than is apparent in the photos, better than most. Obtained a number of years ago from a private European collection via Andy Seibel.

The Tanzanites are gemmy and terminated with top luster, the effect with the Diopsides, Graphite, and platy, white mineral are spectacular. Rare specimen indicative of the open pocket growth. Excellent piece for a Merelani suite, even the bottom is interesting with many small Diopsides. Fine, colorful minature.
