Recent find of magnesioaxinite from the type locality at Merelani Hills, Tanzania. Magnesioaxinite is the magnesium rich end member of the Axinite group (the other end being ferroaxinite) and is typically found as mere shards and crystal fragments. Specimen is composed of a main crystal with a small attached side crystal. Magnesioaxinite is rare and when found at all, is usually as mere shards of crystals. This crystal is complete and has very little damage, just a little edge chatter. One of the finest quality magnesioaxinites I have handled. .
