MK171 - Herderite Shigar Valley, Skardu, Pakistan thumbnail - 2.5 x 2 x 2 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Glassy light green Herderite crystals with mica atop Quartz. The Herderite crystals are well terminated and undamaged, the largest 9mm tall.
MK185 - Cerussite Ojuela Mine, Mapimi, Durango, Mexico thumbnail - 3 x 2.9 x 1.8 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Thick, transparent colorless V-twin Cerussite crystal, shocking in size and quality for the locality. This is from a recent find and look more like something you would see from Tsumeb than any I've ever seen from the Ojuela Mine. The specimen is composed of a well terminated single V-twin crystal, complete all around and undamaged with the point of contact at the base of the 'V'.
MK244 - Babingtonite, Prehnite, Quartz Hongquizhen Quarry, Meigu Co., Sichuan Province, China small cabinet - 6 x 5 x 2.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Well formed black Babingtonite crystals with light green Prehnite and transparent Quartz crystals. An excellent example from this now classic Chinese locality in pristine condition.
LV260 - Astrophyllite in Quartz Zagi Mountain, Peshawar, Pakistan miniature - 5 x 3.2 x 3 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Double terminated Quartz crystal colored golden brown due to inclusions of fine, hair-like crystals of Astrophyllite. Undamaged.
LV281 - Kunzite Nuristan, Afghanistan thumbnail - 3 x 2.3 x 1.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Sharp single yellow Kunzite crystal with attached Quartz and Albite. Gemmy and pristine, complete all around.
SV427 - Quartz over Cobaltian Calcite, Malachite Tenke Fungurume, Lualaba, DR Congo cabinet - 9.5 x 6.5 x 5.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Colorful specimen of sparkling drusy Quartz over pink cobaltian Calcite and small isolated areas of Malachite. One of the best pieces from a small lot of these obtained by Tim Sherburn (who cleaned and trimmed this specimen) a few years ago. This was the only lot of these unusual specimens I've ever seen.

MK502 - Mimetite with Malachite Tsumeb, Namibia cabinet - 12 x 9 x 5.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Large rock matrix covered by tiny clear Calcite crystals which are in turn sprinkled with small green Malachite spheres and starburst clusters of yellow Mimetite. Good coverage on both sides.
ST383 - Chambersite Venice Salt Dome, Louisiana, USA thumbnail - 0.6 x 0.6 x 0.6 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Complete and undamaged tetrahedron of Chambersite, a rare mineral found in salt formations in a small number of localities worldwide. Translucent 'Amethyst' purple in color with flat, truncated tips. Collected by Fred Pough in 1970. Ex. Chuck Trantham collection.
SV459 - Copper with Prehnite Osceola Mine, Houghton Co., Michigan, USA cabinet - 9.5 x 8.5 x 7.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Massive Calcite, Prehnite and Copper with a crystallized vug of the same species. There is a large 4cm Copper crystal in the vug as well as a mass of Prehnite that rises up and contains 2 well formed Copper crystals to 2.5cm wide.
ST402 - Dioptase on/in Quartz Reneville, Dem. Rep. of Congo thumbnail - 2.7 x 2.7 x 1.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Cluster of clear Quartz crystals with Dioptase. The main Dioptase is 1.3cm long, double-terminated, with both ends extending out opposite sides of the Quartz cluster. Old, rare specimen.
ST397 - Galena Treece, Kansas, USA small cabinet - 9 x 6 x 5.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Bright metallic Galena cubes to 2.5cm on a silicified limestone matrix with red 'Ruby-Jack' Sphalerite crystals, Dolomite, and Calcite crystals from Treece, Kansas. The Galena are present on one side, but the specimen detached in the pocket and the Sphalerite and Calcite are present on all sides, making this a floater.
ST443 - Almandine Green's Farm locality, Roxbury, Litchfield Co., Connecticut, USA miniature - 3.5 x 2.5 x 2 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Old USA classic Almandine specimen with a complete purple-red dodecahedron 2cm wide. The Almandine sits perfectly for display in a gray/green schist matrix. A good-sized crystal for the locality which is now closed to collecting.
ST571 - Chrome Tourmaline on Calcite Landanai, Simanjiro District, Manyara Region, Tanzania miniature - 4.5 x 3 x 2 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() A 1.5cm Chrome Tourmaline crystal on matrix. Chrome Tourmaline is a chromium and vanadium rich Dravite.
ST655 - Cryolite, Siderite Ivigtut, Kitan Prov., Greenland small cabinet - 6 x 5 x 4 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Crystalline Cryolite intergrown with crystals of brown Siderite. Crystals of Cryolite to 3-4mm on edge are present in one area. Ex. Erich Laskowski collection.
