MK171 - Herderite Shigar Valley, Skardu, Pakistan thumbnail - 2.5 x 2 x 2 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Glassy light green Herderite crystals with mica atop Quartz. The Herderite crystals are well terminated and undamaged, the largest 9mm tall.
MK185 - Cerussite Ojuela Mine, Mapimi, Durango, Mexico thumbnail - 3 x 2.9 x 1.8 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Thick, transparent colorless V-twin Cerussite crystal, shocking in size and quality for the locality. This is from a recent find and look more like something you would see from Tsumeb than any I've ever seen from the Ojuela Mine. The specimen is composed of a well terminated single V-twin crystal, complete all around and undamaged with the point of contact at the base of the 'V'.
LV389 - Vanadinite on Calcite Apex mine, San Carlos, Chihuahua, Mexico cabinet - 9.5 x 9 x 6.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thick layer of intergrown Calcite crystals with Vanadinite from the Apex Mine. The Vanadinite form barrel-spahed hexagonal crystals to 1.3cm in size and occur on and within the Calcite. This is a large, quality example for the locality with good-sized Vanadinite.
LV399 - Calcite Juanita Mine, Magdalena Mining District, Socorro County, New Mexico, USA cabinet - 13 x 11.5 x 9 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Coral-like mound of white Calcite crystals from the Juanita Mine in New Mexico. The Juanita Mine was an old lead and zinc mine that closed in 1937 and was the oldest claim in the Kelly region. The Calcite is fluorescent (greenish yellow).
MK502 - Mimetite with Malachite Tsumeb, Namibia cabinet - 12 x 9 x 5.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Large rock matrix covered by tiny clear Calcite crystals which are in turn sprinkled with small green Malachite spheres and starburst clusters of yellow Mimetite. Good coverage on both sides.
MK503 - Liroconite Wheal Gorland, St Day, Cornwall, England, United Kingdom miniature - 3.7 x 2.5 x 2.3 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Translucent blue crystals of Liroconite on matrix with crystals to 8mm in size. There are more small areas of crystals on the sides too. Liroconite is a rare copper species with the best specimens found at this mine, which is also the type locality for the species. Wheal Gorland began operation in 1792 and the best Liroconite specimens were found in the mid 1800s. There are some dinged crystals but rare with good color.
MK593 - Alkali Beryl with Tourmaline Deo Darrah, Badakhshan, Afghanistan small cabinet - 5.5 x 4.5 x 3.3 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Intergrown cluster of tabular blue Alkali Beryl crystals, Tourmaline, and Mica. The Beryl crystals reach 1.3cm in size with glassy luster on the thin edges. The colorful Tourmaline crystals show light etching. Well crystallized all around. Note that these were once thought to be the Cesium rich species Vorobyevite but analyses did not show Cesium and this name has since been discredited.
MK114 - Papagoite New Cornelia Pit, Ajo, Pima Co., Arizona, USA miniature - 3.5 x 2.5 x 1.7 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Bright 'electric' blue Papagoite in seams and covering areas of a rock matrix. This has good crystals (!) in areas. From the type locality for Papagoite which was discovered in Ajo in 1960. A rare and hard to find specimen.

There is a large 4cm Copper crystal in the vug as well as a mass of Prehnite that rises up and contains 2 well formed Copper crystals to 2.5cm wide.
SV492 - Pyromorphite Daoping Mine, Guanxi, China small cabinet - 6 x 5.2 x 4 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Pyromorphite specimen composed of nothing but Pyromorphite crystals. The Pyromorphite forms a large central opening lined with fine, deep green crystals.
ST278 - Dumortierite, Hematite (?) in Quartz Vaca Morta quarry, Serra da Vereda, Boquira, Bahia, Brazil cabinet - 10.5 x 7 x 6.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Large double-terminated Quartz crystal with a variety of inclusions including blue Dumortierite and bladed crystals of Hematite. Purchased at the 2021 Tucson show from a large lot of recently mined Quartz from this locality, this was one of only two crystals available with these interesting banded clay (?) inclusions. There is a blue band of Dumortierite through the center with tan colored inclusions in one termination and black metallic Hematite in both terminations. There is a little bit of contacting from other crystals around the center but in good condition overall. Unusual Quartz for a Quartz collector.
