TU1 - Zircon on Aegerine $ 300 (=~ ¥ 44513) SOLD Mulanje Mountain, Malawi small cabinet - 7 x 3.1 x 3.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Fine large Aegerine crystal with associated Zircon and Orthoclase. Note that this is not from Mt. Malosa, but from nearby Mulanje Mountain which is producing a similar suite of minerals as Mt. Malosa. This one has everything going for it, firstly it is a stout crystal at 3.1 cm wide, much more impressive than the typical pencil crystals. It also has great luster and a fine tapering termination, and a bonus of yellow Zircons on two sides. No damage.
TU2 - Rhodochrosite $ 4000 (=~ ¥ 593501) SOLD N'Chwanning Mine, Kuruman, South Africa small cabinet - 8.8 x 5.5 x 4 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Lovely plate of deep red Rhodochrosite crystals of the basal pinacoid habit.Very little to no damage with the largest crystal/crystal group 2 cm wide and perfectly centered on the specimen. A fantastic specimen.
TU3 - Magnesio-axinite $ 1250 (=~ ¥ 185469) SOLD Merelani Hills, Arusha Region, Tanzania miniature - 5 x 3.4 x 0.9 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Fine single crystal with a wonderful lavender color. These are very hard to find in this quality as most are mere shards or partial crystals, especially in this size range. This one is complete a free of damage except for a couple very trivial nicks along the edge. One side has a more smooth and uniform sharp edge with the other a more serrated edge.
TU5 - Vanadinite $ 1500 (=~ ¥ 222563) SOLD Mibladen, Morocco small cabinet - 7 x 5.5 x 4.1 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thick blocky Vanadinite crystals of reddish brown color. Crystals reach 2cm wide by 1.1 cm thick. In excellent condition overall with only two tiny nicks. There was a significant find of this style of Vanadinite in 2012 and it was available with many Moroccan dealers at the 2013 Tucson show. While there were a number of good minatures to be had, the larger specimens had at least one missing crystal or significantly damaged crystal; most had lots of damaged areas. This was the best one in this size range.
TU6 - Elbaite var. Indicolite $ 1200 (=~ ¥ 178050) SOLD Naipa Mine, Alto Ligonha, Mozambique miniature - 4.4 x 0.9 x 0.8 cm ex. Carl Acosta ![]() ![]() Gem quality blue Elbaite with a steep pyramidal termination. Complete all around and undamaged.
TU8 - Brochantite with Anglesite $ 250 (=~ ¥ 37094) SOLD Tsumeb Mine, Namibia miniature - 4.5 x 3.8 x 3 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Bright, vivid green crystals of Brochantite on and embedded in Anglesite. Brochantite and Anglesite occurred together from the second oxidation zone of the mine and is considered a rarity for Tsumeb. At the time it was considered the world's best, now second to the Milpillas Mine. A beautiful piece that would be a great addition to a Tsumeb suite.
TU10 - Senegalite with Turquoise $ 1250 (=~ ¥ 185469) SOLD Khouroudiako, Senegal small cabinet - 8 x 7 x 4.5 cm ![]() ![]() Large, vuggy specimen of the rare phosphate Senegalite from the type locality for the species. Open vugs reach 6cm wide and are fully lined with Senegalite. This is the most aesthetic Senegalite I have ever seen with large sized vugs and good color highlighted against the blue Turquoise underneath. Good vugs on both sides of specimen with very little matrix, you get really not much more than the crystal lined vugs. From the Alain Carion collection.
TU11 - Agate after Shell $ 450 (=~ ¥ 66769) SOLD Dakhla, Morocco small cabinet - 7.8 x 3.5 x 3.3 cm ![]() ![]() Fossil shell from the Eocene replaced by translucent golden agate. This is a monster for the find which usually produces shells in the 2cm size range. In superb condition too.
TU12 - Calcite with Malachite $ 125 (=~ ¥ 18547) SOLD Tsumeb Mine, Namibia miniature - 4 x 3.5 x 2.5 cm ![]() ![]() 2.7cm wide Calcite crystal partially included by Malachite. The Calcite is sharp and lustrous butwith an unfortunate ding on one corner. Smaller Calcites, and red and pink Dolomite complete this colorful specimen.
TU13 - Ettringite $ 1350 (=~ ¥ 200307) SOLD N'Chwanning II Mine, Kuruman, South Africa thumbnail - 2.1 x 1.8 x 1.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Killer Ettringite thumbnail featuring a 2.1 double-terminated crystal attached to a small amount of matrix with a smaller crystal rising up from the back. Aside from the great form, it is undamaged with a superb bright translucent yellow coloration.
TU14 - Cerussite on Smithsonite $ 150 (=~ ¥ 22256) SOLD Tsumeb Mine, Namibia miniature - 3.5 x 2.8 x 1.5 cm ![]() ![]() 1.8 cm wide Cerussite sixling on golden colored Smithsonite. Floater specimen.
TU17 - Topaz $ 750 (=~ ¥ 111281) SOLD Ouro Preto, Minas Gerais, Brazil miniature - 4.8 x 2.2 x 1.5 cm ![]() ![]() Gemmy single crystal complete all around. Great overall condition with just a couple nicks on the edges. This was from the personal collection of the Brazilian dealer I purchased it from. Although there are internal viels and fractures (like most all of these), this one is clearer than most.
TU18 - Siegenite $ 450 (=~ ¥ 66769) SOLD Buick Mine, Reynolds Co., Missouri thumbnail - 3 x 2.8 x 2 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Three octahedral Siegenite crystals on matrix, main crystal is a well centered 6mm crystal. Siegenite is a rare cobalt nickel sulfide. High quality, aesthetic rare mineral. On Marcasite.
TU21 - Barite $ 300 (=~ ¥ 44513) SOLD El'brusskiy Arsenic Mine, Elbrus Mt., Northern Caucasus Region, Russia miniature - 3.8 x 3 x 1.5 cm ![]() ![]() Gem quality golden brown crystal complete all around. In excellent condition for this locality. Fully transparent internally, so much so you see right through it and what looks like inclusions in the photos are really just shadows from some irregular surface areas onthe backside of the crystal.
TU22 - Pyromorphite $ 750 (=~ ¥ 111281) SOLD Bunker Hill Mine, Kellogg, Idaho miniature - 3.5 x 3.0 x 2.8 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Lustrous curving crystals with good 'wet' luster and slight hints of green. Larger crystals mixed with smaller crystals. Ex. Brett Keller, Dawn and Jim Minette collections with labels.
