Presented below is a group of 30 Tsavorite crystals from a major find at Merelani this summer. Tsavorite is the chromium, vanadium rich variety of Grossular and is considered to be the most valuable of the gem Garnets. This find was exceptional both the number of well crystallized Tsvorites found and the fine green color exhibited by most of the crystals. TSV1 - Tsavorite $ 150 (=~ £ 97) Merelani Hills, Lelatema Mtns., Arusha Region, Tanzania thumbnail - 1.5 x 1.1 x 1 cm 
Glassy single crystal with excellent, rich green color, top color for this find. Though contacted along many edges, the top crystal surfaces are smooth and glassy and undamged.
TSV2 - Tsavorite $ 600 (=~ £ 389) Merelani Hills, Lelatema Mtns., Arusha Region, Tanzania thumbnail - 2.3 x 1.8 x 1.7 cm 
Glassy single crystal with excellent, rich green color, top color for this find. Though contacted along many edges, the top crystal surfaces are smooth,glassy and undamaged with interesting beveled edges. Graphite attached to base.
TSV3 - Tsavorite $ 700 (=~ £ 454) Merelani Hills, Lelatema Mtns., Arusha Region, Tanzania thumbnail - 1.9 x 1.6 x 1.4 cm 
Glassy single crystal with a medium grass green color. A well formed crystal complete all around and undamaged except for a few very low faces along the bottom where it was attached to the Graphite matrix. Rare to find Tsvorite in such a complete, fine crystal shape. Good glassy luster and transparency.
TSV4 - Tsavorite $ 450 (=~ £ 292) Merelani Hills, Lelatema Mtns., Arusha Region, Tanzania thumbnail - 1 x 1 x 0.8 cm 
Though small, this is a real gem with top color and excellent transparency. Complete all around on the upper half, looks like a faceted gem, weighs 4.99 carats.
TSV5 - Tsavorite $ 1800 (=~ £ 1166) Merelani Hills, Lelatema Mtns., Arusha Region, Tanzania thumbnail - 1.7 x 1.7 x 1.4 cm 
Glassy single crystal with excellent, rich green color - this specimen has the richest, most saturated color of any crystal in this lot. Crystal surfaces are smooth and glassy and undamged on front and sides, contacted on back and on bottom where attached to Graphite. Stunning crystal.
TSV6 - Tsavorite $ 1300 (=~ £ 842) Merelani Hills, Lelatema Mtns., Arusha Region, Tanzania thumbnail - 1.6 x 1.3 x 0.9 cm 
Fine single crystal with excellent, rich green color, top color for this find. Good transparency with all edge faces present, one of the best of the lot.

Fine quality, complete single crystal on Graphite. Rich green color with sharp, glassy faces, undamaged.
TSV9 - Apatite on Tsavorite $ 350 (=~ £ 227) SOLD Merelani Hills, Lelatema Mtns., Arusha Region, Tanzania thumbnail - 1 x 0.9 x 0.8 cm 
Jewel-like single crystal of light grass green color with an attached 4.5mm blue Apatite crystal. The garnet is gem quality, complete, and undamaged except for one face on the backside, which is not very noticable (can be seen on image where Apatite shown on left side of Tsvorite).

Glassy single crystal with excellent, rich green color, top color for this find. Front display faces are undamaged, backside contacted where it was attached to matrix. Bright and gemmy with excellent color.

Glassy single crystal with excellent, rich green color, top color for this find, one of my favorites of the lot. Complete and undamaged.

Elongated single crystal with excellent, rich green color, top color for this find. Complete all around and undamaged, small amount of Graphite on bottom, fine.

Large single undamaged crystal, best large crystal of the lot. Medium grass green in color with beveled edges, glassy luster plenty of transparent zones. Well crystallized on all sides, even crystal faces on the bottom. This crystal is exceptional for it's size and perfection of form.

Glassy crystal cluster with excellent, rich green color, top color for this find. Crystal surfaces are smooth and glassy and undamged except for a small chip on the right edge.
TSV16 - Tsavorite $ 290 (=~ £ 188) Merelani Hills, Lelatema Mtns., Arusha Region, Tanzania thumbnail - 1.4 x 1.4 x 1.2 cm 
Glassy single crystal with excellent, rich green color, top color for this find. Crystal surfaces are smooth and glassy. There is some edge damage on this one, but oh the color...very good.
