Tall single Tanzanite crystal partially coated by Calcite on 2 sides. Deep, gemmy blue at the termination zone. Big crystal for the price.

Classic single Tanzanite crystal - thick, gemmy and very clean of damage, just very minor chipping on a couple edges, trichroic purple/blue/red.
AF378 - Prehnite on Tanzanite $ 2800 Merelani Hills, Lelatema Mtns., Arusha Region, Tanzania miniature - 4 x 2.5 x 1.5 cm 
The specimens with blue Prehnites on Tanzanite were a hit at the 2011 Tucson show with specimens selling in the many tens of thousands of dollars. This specimen has blocky blue Prehnites on the back and sides and smaller Tanzanites at the base that form a sort of "matrix". Undamaged and a good value.

Single Tanzanite crystal with a Pyrite crystal and a cluster of tiny Diopsides attached to one side of the termination. Pyrite is not unusual from Merelani, but Tanzanite specimens with attached pyrite are uncommon, especially those with the pyrite perched so aesthetically on the Tanzanite.

V-shaped Tanzanite crystal cluster with attached Calcite. Main crystal is a gemmy deep blue with great luster. The other 2 crystals are partial, withthe breaks occurring prior to mining as the unterminated ends are covered by Calcite crystals.

Single Tanzanite crystal with a Pyrite crystal attached to one side of the crystal. Pyrite is not unusual from Merelani, but Tanzanite specimens with attached pyrite are uncommon, especially those with the pyrite perched so aesthetically on the Tanzanite. The Tanzanite is also a bi-color with a yellow termination over a blue body color. Unusual addition to a Merelani suite.
