Elongated single yellow crystal. Glassy luster, undamaged.

HUGE single Tanzanite crystal. Tanzanite doesn't often reach this size, and when it does, it is usually just as unterminated chunks of crystal. With this specimen there is both the large size and the great crystal form. It's complete all aroung with a perfect, gemmy termination and undamaged except for a small part of a backside edge. This crystal has been heated, which is acceptable for this species so long as it is disclosed and priced accordingly. Adding further interest are numerous green Diopside crystals on the backside. One photo is backlit at the bottom to show the internal translucency. A big, impressive crystal!

Here's a real rarity, fan-shaped Tanzanite with a 1 cm cluster of white Chabazite crystals (analyzed) on top, with Graphite and Diopside on the backside. I have only seen two other Tanzanites in this fan-shaped formation, one is Bill Larson's (figure 105, page 394 of the Merelani issue of the Mineralogical Record), the other is a thumbnail I previoulsy sold (specimen AF635). The Tanzanite is yellow grading up to light blue at the tips. A unique Tanzanite.

Bi-colored Tanzanite crystal with saturated pink over blue coloration, very nice.

Glassy and lustrous gem Tanzanite crystal with rare pink color. Perhaps one in a five hundred crystals or more have this color, I only see them occasionally and this is one of the best I've seen. Good quality gemmy crystal with a rich medium pink color, 1.7 x 0.9 x 0.7 cm.

Glassy, deep blue Tanzanite crystal 4cm long on matrix of Graphite with Calcite. Well terminated with internal gem zones. Fine Tanzanite crystals of this size on matrix are rare.

Double terminated, color zoned Tanzanite. Rich blue/purple in the middle with yellow terminations.

Gemmy single Tanzanite crystal, complete all around and undamaged except for a small chip on the backside of the termination.
