Spessartine

Superb, complete orange Spessartine with good translucency and large areas of internal transparency, one of the best of the find. This is a complete crystal all around with no contacts - only a small minority of the find are complete crystals, most are shards or have contacts on at least 1 or two sides. Of the complete crystals, most have lots of black inclusions - this piece has only 3 small black inclusions that are in generally the same location, almost the entire crystal is free of the dark inclusions. This piece has it all, completeness of form, freedom of inclusions, and best color. I backlit the crystal in the lower photo to try to show the internal transparency. Crystal is 2.9cm in diameter.

Sharply formed complete crystal with good orange color and almost no black inclusions (just 2 tiny specks). One bck face has tiny bit of damage and same back face has a 9mm wide indentation where another crystal grew into it, all other faces are smooth and complete. Crystal diameter 3.1 cm, 30.5 grams.

Heart shaped intergrowth of two crystals. Top orange color and complete all around. Backside of bottom tip has area of damage, 340 grams. Crystal is 2.6cm in diameter.

Complete orange crystal with almost no black inclusions and a few red mica inclusion, equant, good all around, 8.5 grams. Crystal is 2cm in diameter.

Complete orange Spessartine with good gemmy orange areas and only one medium sized black inclusion. Top color and gemmier than most. Weighs 5.4 grams. Crystal is 1.6cm in diameter.

Complete Spessartine with great orange color and a few red mica inclusions, 6.9 grams. Crystal is 1.8cm in diameter.

Well formed Spessartine with good translucency and top orange color. Bottom face is contacted and lightly intergrown with Braunite and red mica, otherwise free of dark inclusion, weighs in at 56 grams. Crystal is 3.8cm in diameter.

Complete orange Spessartine with good translucency and large areas of internal transparency. This is a complete crystal all around with no contacts - only a small minority of the find are complete crystals, most are shards or have contacts on at least 1 or two sides. Few black inclusions, a good one. Weighs in at 54 grams. Crystal is 3.7cm in diameter.

Complete Spessartine with great orange color and a few red mica inclusions, 5.5 grams. Crystal is 1.7cm in diameter.
