Terminated deep green Chromian rich Diopside crystal cluster with attached Calcite. This cluster came from a pocket opened in December 2007 that produced crystals of exceptional color, much better than typical Merelani Diopsides. For more information on this find, refer to page 77 of the January-February 2009 issue of the Mineralogical Record. Individual crystals to 2.9cm, size 4.5 x 1.5 x 1.5 cm.  This is a special specimen.  The very best from this pocket were matrix specimens associated with exceptionally well formed Graphite crystals, with the rest being loose singles.  This was the only loose cluster like this that I saw.
