E629 - Azurite $ 600 (=~ AUS$ 915) Blue Mine, Chessy, Rhone-Alpes, France miniature - 3.5 x 2.5 x 2.5 cm Lovely rosettes of Azurite from the famous Chessy mines of France. These mines are long closed and I understand these specimens were found in the 1800s. This specimen is composed of two attached clusters of gorgeous blue color. There are no points of contact, a complete floater and undamaged.
TS230 - Azurite with Malachite after Azurite $ 350 (=~ AUS$ 534) Tsumeb, Namibia small cabinet - 5.6 x 2.5 x 2 cm Highly colorful specimen of Azurite, Malachite after Azurite crystals on a bright yellow/green matrix.
M110 - Brochantite $ 1500 (=~ AUS$ 2287) Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Sonora, Mexico cabinet - 11 x 6 x 2 cm Thick, deep forest green Brochantite crystals with high luster on matrix. Two very fine, well isolated clusters stand out against the lighter colored matrix. Largest cluster is 2.7cm wide. Individual crystals reach 7mm in width. These are thick, robust crystals from a 2014 find and are much different in style than earlier finds from the mine which were usually more fragile, hair-like crystals.
M115 - Brochantite $ 290 (=~ AUS$ 442) Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Sonora, Mexico small cabinet - 6 x 2.5 x 1 cm Thick, deep forest green Brochantite crystals with high luster on matrix. Loads of fine terminated crystals. These are thick, robust crystals from a 2014 find and are much different in style than earlier finds from the mine which were usually more fragile, hair-like crystals.
M117 - Brochantite $ 600 (=~ AUS$ 915) Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Sonora, Mexico thumbnail - 2 x 1.6 x 1.3 cm Thick, deep forest green Brochantite crystals with high luster on a thin wafer of matrix. Main crystal is 6mm wide. Good crystals on the bottom side too. These are thick, robust crystals from a 2014 find and are much different in style than earlier finds from the mine which were usually more fragile, hair-like crystals.
M120 - Brochantite $ 400 (=~ AUS$ 610) Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Sonora, Mexico thumbnail - 3 x 3 x 1 cm Thick, deep forest green Brochantite crystals with high luster. These are thick, robust crystals from a 2014 find and are much different in style than earlier finds from the mine which were usually more fragile, hair-like crystals. No longer being found.
M136 - Azurite with Malachite $ 750 (=~ AUS$ 1144) Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Sonora, Mexico miniature - 3.2 x 3 x 2.5 cm Large single Azurite crystal with Malachite and smaller attached Azurite crystals. Superb electric blue coloration and wet luster. The frontside has a couple rows of tiny Azurites attached, and the backside has a single larger Azurite coming out the face. This grew straight out from the pocket wall giving such beautiful 360 degree viewing. There is a natural notch along the top edge and there appears to be a little damage right in the notch. Otherwise this is perfect and even stands up on it's own.
M138 - Azurite on Malachite $ 450 (=~ AUS$ 686) Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Sonora, Mexico miniature - 3.5 x 2.5 x 1.5 cm Single, terminated Azurite crystal on velvety, botryoidal Malachite. The Azurite is 1.5cm long. Specimens such as this are uncommon from Milpillas and are highly attractive.
M141 - Azurite with Malachite $ 1300 (=~ AUS$ 1982) Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Sonora, Mexico miniature - 3.8 x 3 x 2.2 cm Superb electric blue Azurite crystals with a few stringers of Malachite on one side. This is from the watercourse pocket (also called the elegant pocket or spiderweb pocket) that was opened in 2013. Nearly a floater cluster (there is contacting on a few of the bottom of a few of the lower crystals) composed of intergrown crystals to 1.9cm in size. Although this was mined in 2013 it only made its way north of the border in late 2014 having been stashed away by a miner. Undamaged and superb.
