ST568 - Quartz $ 150 Mt. Tamalpais, Marin Co., California, USA small cabinet - 7 x 2.5 x 2.3 cm Undamaged single Quartz crystal with a sharp triangular termination and a grey phantom near the tip. An excellent Marin Co. Quartz.
ST556 - Quartz Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania miniature - 4.8 x 2.5 x 2 cm Thick, double-terminated Quartz crystal with a smaller single crystal rising up off one side. This crystal has a lot of character and reminds me a submarine for some reason. Complete all around and undamaged. Found at the Merelani Tanzanite mines.
ST569 - Calcite $ 800 Daye Copper Mine, Daye Co., Huangshi, Hubei, China small cabinet - 6.8 x 3.5 x 3 cm Large, double-terminated greenish yellow Calcite crystal. The crystal is internally transparent and nearly pristine. This is a crystal I've owned for about 20 years and was the best of a small lot available with one Chinese dealer at the Tucson mineral show.
ST564 - Bournonite $ 1200 Machacamarca, Potosi, Bolivia small cabinet - 8 x 6 x 5 cm Large 'cogwheels' or metallic grey Bournonite on matrix. Main crystal is 4cm wide a stands uprite perfectly for display. There are other smaller Bournonite crystals present along with small Tetrahedrite crystals.
ST589 - Arsenopyrite, Quartz, Stannite $ 250 Yaogangxian Mine, Hunan, China miniature - 3.7 x 3 x 2.1 cm Undamaged specimen of a transparent Quartz crystal and mica atop a bright, metallic cluster of Arsenopyrite crystals over a matrix of Stannite. Attractive, showy miniature.
ST585 - Fluorite with Galena $ 750 Blackdene Mine, Weardale, Durham, England small cabinet - 8.5 x 5 x 4.5 cm Translucent to transparent purple Fluorite cubes intergrown with Galena cubes. The Fluorite has great glassy luster and really lights up in natural sunlight. Ex. A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum.
ST554 - Tourmaline St. Anne's Mine, Miami, Karoi District, Zimbabwe small cabinet - 7.2 x 0.7 x 0.6 cm Long, dark green but transparent single Tourmaline crystal from recent production at the famous St. Anne's mine in Zimbabwe. Tourmaline has been very rare from this mine historically, which has primarily targeted blue Topaz. Though dark, it is transparent facet grade throughout with a more greenish brown at the tip and a bright pure green over the rest of the crystal. The crystal has a natural 'bend' near the base caused by natural fracturing and rehealing processes during the crytal's growth. Complete and undamaged and weighs 8.52 grams.
ST678 - Hyalophane $ 180 Zadraski Potok Mine, Busovaca, Bosnia small cabinet - 6.2 x 4.5 x 4 cm Distinct, well formed crystals of Hyalophane on matrix. The crystals are glassy and transparent. There are also small crystals of Goethite after Ankerite and small acicular crystals of Rutile present. Ex. Erich Laskowski collection.
ST671 - Clinoptilolite $ 150 Richardson's Ranch, Madras, Oregon, USA small cabinet - 7 x 6 x 3.5 cm Numerous crystals of burnt orange colored Clinoptilolite on the front display face, with many more crystals on the bottom and back sides. Ex. Erich Laskowski collection.
ST664 - Cylindrite $ 450 Poopo, Oruro Dept., Bolivia small cabinet - 7 x 5 x 4 cm Numerous crystals of Cylindrite exposed on all sides of specimen. Cylindrite is a sulfosalt mineral containing tin, lead, antimony and iron and the cylindrical crystal form is unique in the mineral world. This specimen has large crystals to 6mm in diameter (most have much thinner crystals). Associated minerals include Wurtzite, Zinkenite, and Valentinite. Ex. Erich Laskowski collection, purchased from Kristalle in 1996.
ST649 - Dyscrasite $ 300 Bouismas Mine, Bou Azzer mining district, Draa-Tafilalet Region, Morocco small cabinet - 6.3 x 4 x 2.2 cm Long, well formed crystals of Dyscrasite associated with pale green Actinolite in a white Calcite matrix. Good crystals exposed on both sides and a particularly aesthetic example. Ex. Erich Laskowski collection.
