AR26 - Tourmaline in Lepidolite $ 450 (=~ £ 324) Aracuai, Minas Gerais, Brazil small cabinet - 5.5 x 3.6 x 2.7 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() White Lepidolite partially wraps around a naturally etched, multi-colored Tourmaline crystal. The green colored end of the crystal shows part of the original flat termination and the other end shows etched 'spires' of pink and green coloration.
AR31 - Dioptase on Calcite with Duftite Tsumeb, Nammibia small cabinet - 6.5 x 4.7 x 4.0 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Classic Tsumeb specimen of Dioptase on white Calcite. Super lustrous, transluscent dark green Dioptase crystals in small clusters and isolated crystals. Areas of lighter green color Duftite are in association. There is damage to a couple of the Dioptase crystals, but the vast majority are fine and undamaged.
AR37 - Benitoite $ 120 (=~ £ 86) Benitoite Gem Mine, San Benito County, California miniature - 3.8 x 2.2 x 1.1 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Benitoite crystals were occasionally found as 'floaters' that had weathered out of the host crossite amphibole rock matrix. This is an example of a single large crystal with blue-gray color and a rough surface caused by the amphibole inclusions. Even though it's not dark blue in color, it does have the same 'cornflower blue' fluorescent color when seen under shortwave UV lighting.
