J477 - Benitoite with Natrolite on matrix $ 400 Benitoite Gem Mine, San Benito County, California small cabinet - 6.0 x 4.0 x 1.9 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Over a dozen cornflower blue color Benitoite crystals are seen on a white Natrolite covered matrix. This is a classic, ultra-rare example of Benitoite with fully terminated crystals and no damage. A small black remnant crystal of Neptunite sits on one side. The Benitoite crystals are highly fluorescent under SW Ultraviolet light.
J478 - Orpiment $ 350 Jiepaiyu Mine, Shimen deposit, Shimen Co., Changde, Hunan, China small cabinet - 9.0 x 8.0 x 6.9 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() A group of elongated, terminated Orpiment crystals to over 2cm radiating in all directions from a matrix of massive Orpiment. Deep orange-butterscotch color specimen from this Classic Chinese locality.
J455 - Prehnite $ 220 Merelani Hills, Lelatema Mtns., Arusha Region, Tanzania small cabinet - 5.5 x 4.0 x 3.8 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Gemmy bright lemon yellow Prehnite in a spherical grouping with sharp ridges of crystals. A small amount of silver-gray Graphite can be seen on one side. The quality of the Prehnite is superb with big crystals extending out of the main group with good luster and very translucent. Only minor contact and cleaving in a few areas.
J680 - Calcite with Duftite $ 750 Tsumeb, Namibia small cabinet - 9.0 x 6.5 x 6 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Mound-shaped matrix covered by green Duftite and small Calcite crystals with groupings and single larger Calcites to 3.5cm. Minor chipping to some edges but in overall great condition and very showy from all angles, good from all sides. A very sculptural and attractive Calcite.
J419 - Smithsonite $ 300 Tsumeb, Namibia miniature - 4.4 x 3.5 x 2.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Undamaged cluster of yellow Smithsonite crystals on matrix. Crystals reach 2cm in size. A good example of Tsumeb Smithsonite, considered teh world's best, and no longer being found.
J412 - Smithsonite on Cerussite $ 280 Tsumeb, Namibia miniature - 4 x 3.5 x 2.0 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Undamaged 'snowflake' of Cerussite with small crystals of green, cuprian Smithsonite attached to the front. Complete and good from both sides, both front and back sides shown.
TS254 - Azurite $ 1650 Tsumeb, Namibia miniature - 4.2 x 3.0 x 2.8 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Divergent sprays of Azurite crystals on a bit of white matrix. These are the uncommon GEM Azurites from Tsumeb that show great color and transparency when backlit. Good pointed termination on most crystals. A few crystals have ragged, unterminated ends but these are natural and not damaged. A rare old treasure.
J684 - Dioptase with Plancheite $ 2500 Tsumeb, Namibia miniature - 4.5 x 3.5 x 3.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Highly aesthetic Tsumeb Dioptase, decidedly more colorful than most due to the presence of the baby blue Plancheite spheres. The Dioptase occurs as both small drusy crystals coating Calcite rhombs and larger, highly lustrous crystals to 1.8cm.
J414 - Dioptase with Calcite $ 275 Tsumeb, Namibia small cabinet - 7.5 x 4.5 x 3.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Dioptase crystals to 1cm with larger, translucent Calcite crytals to 1.5cm Some damage present but in overall good condition. Typical Tsumeb Dioptase/Calcite specimens have white, rhombic Calcite. This one is a little different with translucent to transparent scalenohedral Calcite crystals.
J693 - Quartz on Fluorite $ 180 Chebka sidi Said, Midelt, Meknes-Tafilalet Region, Morocco small cabinet - 8.0 x 5 x 2.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Yellow Fluorite cubes to 3.5cm on edge with attached clear Quartz crystals, so clear they practically dissappear on the surfaces of the Fluorite. Translucent to transparent with good color saturation.
J695 - Quartz on Fluorite $ 150 Chebka sidi Said, Midelt, Meknes-Tafilalet Region, Morocco small cabinet - 6.0 x 3.5 x 2.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Yellow Fluorite cubes to 2.4cm on edge with attached drusy Quartz crystals to selected surfaces of the Fluorite. Translucent to transparent with good color saturation.
J699 - Brookite in Quartz $ 200 Kharan, Balochistan, Pakistan miniature - 4.5 x 3.2 x 2.7 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Bright and transparent Quartz crystal with inclusions of Brookite crystals. This is an excellent example with long Brookite crystals, some of which are fully included in the Quartz and others that partially extend out of the Quartz. The central Brookite extends from the base of the Quartz right up the middle to the very tip of the Quartz! The Quartz is also mostly recrystallized on the base. Great crystal!!
J713 - Stilbite $ 350 Maharashtras State, India small cabinet - 8.5 x 8 x 4 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Double-terminated Stilbite on a matrix of drusy Quartz crystals. This is not your average Stilbite, with much better quality and presence than most. The crystal has a well saturated peach coloration and is 5.5cm tall with smaller crystals sticking out the sides. Stands up dramatically on the Quartz for great display. Good from all sides and undamaged. A really good one!!
